Have been going to SM's for a few years. The store is full of only the best shoes for natural running. The store has friendly staff who are so experienced and knowledgeable. I recommend to book an assessment for your first visit. I did . They keep a detailed record of your feet. I have never left unhappy but always with the right shoe and fit for me . In my most recent visit I bought a new barefoot shoe brand that I have never tried, Skora, Phase. What a great shoe ticked all the pros online but I have no cons. Best shoe I have ever "slow jogged" in on pavement and packed trail. I feel they are a great shoe for experienced and beginner barefoot runners. Great on road and pavement due to the cushioning but still able to run with great foot feel to the surface. No jarring! My feet, calves and achilles felt great. I ran forty + minutes in them with no concerns. I am 70+ years old and I finished refreshed and happy . Love the shoes,love Sole Mechanic an l love my new Skora Phase.

A very comprehensive barefoot/ biomechanics orientated shoe shop. Lots of stock and options.

I had a foot assessment/fitting, followed by some options. Didn’t buy anything at the store but have listed myself down for a new release.

Customer service is great and Bryony provided good advice on fitting, making it easier compared to online shopping.

This was my second consultation with Sole mechanics. Both experiences were excellent. The consultant went above and beyond what I expected.

The team at Sole mechanics were phenomenal. It helped to have live assistance when it came to analysing the right footwear for my feet during this transition to barefoots and I was glad to have went there in person. The tips and insights were helpful and the team took care to hear me out to find the right fit for the activities I had in mind.

Staff are always helpful and keen to answer any questions you have. I’ve been multiple times and never had a bad experience.

The foot assessment they do gives you a great insight to the type of shoe you need to be wearing, and the staff are always patient as you try on the entire store 😅

Go buy yourself some minimal shoes!

I have been wearing Xero Barefoot hiking boots for a few years and had noticed that Sole Mechanics are now also stocking Xero shoes. The brand is a good fit for my foot shape and having been in the area last week, I visited the shop. I found the staff enormously helpful and knowledgeable about the various barefoot brands and their respective fits. The staff found me a comfortable pair of Xero runners, and (to my surprise, because their shape generally doesn’t work for me) well-fitting and great looking Vivobarefoot sandals. I walked out a very happy customer.

Lovely communication as I had to do a change to my online purchase. Great customer service and great quality shoes !

I initially went into Sole Mechanics in Hampton to try on some Vivobearfoot shoes having never worn anything similar before. Very knowledgeable and thorough staff. I was so impressed with the shoes within the first week that I bought another pair (different model) from their online store.

These guys are the bee knees. I've run minmalist / zero drop shoes for about 10 years. After spending 7-8 years buying (and hoping for the best) shoes online, I could not believe my luck that this store was around the courner.

Their service is great. I did a walk in the first time, but recommend booking if you are not sure what you want.

I also did a foot assesment and picked up a pair of shoes that I was not aware of and loved them.

The only down side is price. But their shoes seem on par with other retailers, its just the brands they stock. Signing up for emails - you can take 20% off prices at some stages during the the year.

Love my vivo barefoot shoes for optimal movement at the gym. Team at Sole Mechanics were fantastic. Loved the foot assessment tech too.

Haven't had that many wears with the shoes but my first impressions are:
- comfortable with sufficient 'cushioning'
- wide toebox
- breathable
- true-to-size

Love all our shoes from Sole Mechanic and the staff are so helpful. My most recent order was school shoes for my daughter. However, she's got 3 weeks left for the year and refuses to part with her original Vivo's for the time being. They have lasted her 3 years and are actually her main weekend shoes too. The new pair were a size too big and with no hassle at all, a return slip was sent to me and they were swapped over for the correct size. My son and hubby also wear the same shoes for work and school, the RA 11, for men and women.

This is my second pair of the VIVOBAREFOOT PRIMUS LITE III WOMENS BRIGHT WHITE. Always an easy online process, delivery, great product and super comfy. The first pair are still going ok but treated myself a new pair for Christmas ready for summer. Easy to care for. Give them a hand wash and they come up a treat.

The staff were helpful. I had to return a pair of sandals because they did not fit and the process was quick and efficient. They were giving away popcorn that day, so that’s a plus :)

Top marks for service. I booked a consultation for my first pair of Barefoot shoes. What a nice experience that was, Georgia was super helpful, informative and very customer focused. You can tell these guys are passionate about what they do and how much the customer means to them. Nice one!!!
