Beautiful park. Lovely birds. Great swimming. Creek crossings in wet weather require 4wd.

Spectacular Great Walk, and quite a bit easier that Carnarvon. That said, there were some areas that had the sweat dripping. The walk had a lot more places that a novice could bail out if the walk proved too onerous, or in the event of an injury.

There were also a lot of spots that made you want to stop and soak in the ambiance - lovely Rock pools, enormously tall forests, liana forests, eucalyptus forests (quite a lot of snakes).

I highly recommend this 4 day walk for those just getting into hiking - easy terrain, good paths, close to Brisbane, some phone coverage.

Did the great walk. Beautiful views, many (cold) places to swim. A few leeches on the track under canopy.

Excellent bush walks escape the hurdles and bustle of life. You may be lucky enough to head the whip bird call echo through the palm trees or a scrub turkey wandering through the forest .... or a green tree snake hanging from a branch ..... go on get out of the house and explore a small part of this great country we call Australia.

Great serviced campgrounds, recently graded road infrastructure and beautiful walking trails this area is a must-visit. Campground facilities include toilets but no showers. There are also good quality fireplaces but you have to bring your own firewood. Best hikes artist cascades to Boolounba Falls and Summer Falls. If you can also fit in a visit to Kenilworth bluff and Mt Alan you would have covered the best areas.

Fantastic swimming and hiking. Need a high clearance vehicle to cross the water to get to the day areas.

Absolutely beautiful. Worth the days trip. The walk to the lookout and waterfall at the very very very very top was lovely. My 5 YO was able to walk it. But was to tired to make it all the way back.

What a great national park in Queensland you can drive right up to the water and stopping for a swim nice and warm nice and fresh and the water is clear. In some parts you will need a full drive to get in or you can park a two wheel drive car and walk in.
It's a free Park and has plenty of room and camping is allowed right on the water good place for picnics and lunch there are toilets and facility basic facilities. Like tables and chairs. It is an easy drive in from the metropolitan area anyone who is in the area I would stop in and have a look it is a great National Park close to suburbia and a must see for everyone in in the Queensland area.
There is fish in the water and bush turkeys running around everywhere so great place the kids and a great place to have some fun.
I would recommend bringing drinking water I was there is no drinking water on site and what rubbish you bringing you should bring out with you, campfires allowed and there is no power in the national park I did not see any locked Gates so you can come and go as you want 24 hours access. The great Creek crossings that you do crossover a spectacular the water looks crystal clear.

Great Walks, Crystal Clear Creeks. 4WD's are a preference for the nicest swimming holes. Be aware some bridges are only wide enough for one car at a time, and between Connondale & Kennilworth the paved road is only a single lane for a large portion. If you do not want stone chips do not drive out there because you WILL have to drive off the bitumen onto the dirt side road a lot on busy days. Worth it though!

One of the hidden gems of South-east Queensland. Campgrounds can be busy, but explore some of the hidden tracks like Sunday Creek Rd and you'll get to see some amazing wilderness country and rainforest. Respect the area, take only pictures and leave nothing behind. 👍🏼

Be warned Google Maps won't work inside park, in fact it went totally off grid. Best to use physical maps and get national park maps. It is best suited for 4WD's how ever most "AWD" and cars with adequate ground clearances will be able to go but only during dry season. Lots of place's to hike, swim and sight see plus those with 4WD's will like it has well.
