Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park, and I can't recommend it highly enough, especially for travelers with dogs. We stayed in one of the dog-friendly cabins, which provided great value for money. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making our stay very enjoyable.

One of the standout features of this caravan park is the crew running it. They were incredibly enthusiastic and friendly, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home.

The park's location is perfect for exploring the surrounding Coonawarra wine region, and the amenities on site were more than adequate. We're already looking forward to our next visit. If you're passing through Penola, this caravan park is a fantastic choice!

Our stay at the Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park in the family cabins was fantastic. The cabins offered great value and were perfect for our family. We enjoyed spending time with the kids at the park, and it was lovely to see them play with other families. The friendly atmosphere and well-maintained facilities made our stay very enjoyable. Highly recommended for families!

We stayed in an ensuite van site for 2 nights, great location , an easy walk to the pub for dinner. Central to all the wineries .
Park clean, neat and quiet at an awesome price.
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Lovely quiet Caravan Park. Beautiful country setting with clean and functional amenities. The Poplars make a lovely backdrop during sunset. Excellent friendly service.

The new owner has been working very hard over the past 18 months upgrading the park! New cabins, camp kitchen, BBQs and a dump point. I would highly recommend this park to all travelling to Penola/Coonawarra.

Stopped here for 2 nights and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good, clean amenities. Short walk to the shops and pubs. Will be back for sure. Great price for a powered caravan site.

Dog-friendly all year-round which meant we could take our doggos over the Christmas/New Year holiday period.
Nice grassy caravan sites. New BBQ area.
Short walk into town and short drive to the wineries (many of which are dog friendly).

Great caravan park cabins, ensiute sites,powered and unpowered sites 5 min walk into town. Clean and tidy. Facilities camp kitchen, shower and toilets, dumppoint well priced. Friendly hosts

Wonderful place with great cabins.
Had to book last minute but Sally was really helpful and got us covered.

Highly recommend if you are heading to Penola or need a place to stay on your way through.

Stayed 2 nights on a powered en suite site. All facilities were spotless. Management were extremely helpful and friendly. Pretty park with grass and trees convenient to town amenities.

Well presented with high standards of cleanliness - not always the case with cabin accommodation. Was warm, cosy and spacious.

Nice extras including luggage rack in main bedroon, electric blankets, tissues, hairdryer & well stocked with toilet paper!

The Park is welcoming with friendly staff, able to accommodate travellers from interstate easily. The facilities were great and clean; ensuite site (travelling with our campervan). The Park is well located walking distance from the township and not far from many wineries.

We’ve stayed twice in the last 3 weeks Great little caravan park, no bells or whistles. Well maintained regional park. Perfectly located to explore Penola and Coonawarra. Great walk to a native Tree reserve as well as the township. The Royal Oak Hotel does fantastic food too. Most of all Sally the Manager, is lovely and helpful. Thank you Sue & Russ

We spent our Easter at Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park and were very unfortunate with some weather that caught us in a sticky situation late at night. We called the after hours number and were tendered to extremely quickly. Hosts of the park moved mountains to ensure our family was safe and warm for the night re-arranging bookings to accommodate us. Absolute second to none hospitality. we would highly recommend this caravan park. We look forward to coming back to see you soon.

Our car battery went flat and the cheerful manager found some jumper leads and had us going in five minutes.

This caravan park is like a hidden gem. We loved it and met some nice people. The new management have got some great plans to better the park. It was clean and dog friendly. We thought it great.
Penola is a great little town so much History the first Australian Saint Mary McKillop built her first school here and the Saint Mary McKillop park was lovely. Go straight to the Information Centre they are so helpful.
We visited some of the first setters homes, Petticoat Lane worth a look inside a couple of old homes. The Rose Gardens with some very very old roses all named with dates planted and tagged were amazing.
We had dinner at The Old Oak Hotel, really nice meal.
The Narracorte Caves are worth the tour, Cave Alexandrina was incredible. Or you could do other caves in different tours. The wineries are unbelievable in this whole area. Suggest at least 3 days or more if you want to stay put. Worth the stay. Great place to visit.

great fuss free caravan park, large shady sites. large en-suites. Nice peaceful caravan park to rest and relax and for those that don't like the hustle and bustle of city caravan parks it is still only half an hour from everything the limestone coast has to offer.
the managers rob and sally are some of the best we have come across, helpful, friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay....highly recommend this hidden gem
