Great experience! Had the pleasure of meeting Dru for our wine tasting. He’s a lovely, informative and warm gentleman with lots of wine knowledge. Would highly recommend for wine experts and novices. Definitely worth a visit for wine tasting/shopping and browsing.

Had a great tasting while a friend shopped in the retail area! Something for everyone and learnt so much about the organic wine growing and wine making process! Check it out if you are nearby.

What's not to like. A spot of home decor shopping whilst tasting wines.

Beautiful wines with a really great array of home decor. Bought the Martini and red wine glasses which were designed by the owner. A perfect 150ml pour every time (or more if you choose to, like me).

Recommended to come to the store for wine tasting. Very cozy inside with plenty of other goodies to purchase within the store.

Absolutely fabulous. Welcoming, genuinely friendly and knowledgeable about their amazing selection of goods and wines. A must see and visit in Penola. Terrific gift ideas. 100% organic wine, very nice. Don't forget to pat the beautiful old dog and say hello. Well done on the design of the shop.

Yes this place is amazing and the staff are so warm and welcoming. If you enjoy some wine I 100% suggest you give their wines a try you won't regret it.

The tasting area is within their shop, it might not look like a serious cellar door but they are seriously good wines.
A broad range of mainly Mt Gambier whites and Coonawarra reds, each a clean expression of variety and site and of medal quality. Great presentation by one of the makers if you are as lucky as I. Well worth a visit.

Today we drove to Penola to purchase our favorite wines from Koonara. Flowers for Lucy and Lucy and Alice Pinot Gris. I also purchased my 2nd lot of Savor Wine Glasses. Next trip I will purchase the stemless ones. These r amazing glasses. Highly reccomend them. Lovely friendly staff in the shop each trip we have done.

Beautiful must-visit store in the heart of Penola! Love the selection of homewares in store as well as the local food products. Tried many of the wines and bought a couple of bottles. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about their products. A big plus for me is the wines use very minimal sulphites (no hangovers yay). Can't wait to return, Koonara is my favourite store in Coonawarra!

What a place to stop for some wine tasting. If you're lucky enough to meet Dru, you'll enjoy a nice long chat and get to know all there is to know about the Coonawarra. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a great time here tasting.. lady serving that day was helping out owners who were in iso... owners should employ her permanently... she was fantastic... wanting a chat whilst we tasted.. no hard sell.. so we bought a bit... love the bubbles🍾

Lovely cellar door & shop in the main street of Penola; nice wines, friendly staff, and found some locals enjoying the wines there.

Really enjoyed the online wine tasting session hosted by Koonara Wines over Zoom with my work colleagues, we had a lot of fun. And the sampler box of wines we all received was delicious!
