Really excellent service-would recommend

I would avoid this place like the plague/ or Ebola treatment ward if at all possible. IF you are 'sent' here, ask instantly if you can go to the SA Pathology collection centre instead, and insist on it. The SA Pathology centre is located inside the main RAH building.

On entering this collection centre there is a waiting room... but no one managing it. There is no receptionist, just a simple table with a 'please take a number' . Fine. If I take a number, whos going to know, that Ive taken it. There's no one here to know, I've taken it! Wall plastered with scientist photos, and huge TV which is turned off. Not inviting. Not personable. Not customer orientated.

Finally knocked on a door, to which a lady, with a computer head set & microphone came out... Yes, I work here, but I don't take samples, the lady in that room does. Right. Ok. How will she know, I'm here ??? Microphone lady knocks on nearby closed door. Small conversation ensues.

Pathology lady finally comes out of specimen collection room.
Looks over pathology form, needs to call collection centre for clarifying samples. Asks me 'The weather is lovely today' ... twice... Applies tourniquet, misses vein... painfully... goes to have a second go, and gives me the option of going to the SA PAthology Collection Centre. I instantly take that option and leave eagerly.

SA Pathology centre. Busy, but organised. Phlebotomist knowledgeable and personable. Quick look over arm. Vein ,in first-go. Samples taken. Easy.
