Taxi Kitchen

Our first dinner in Melbourne, and it did not disappoint.

Vibe: casual and you get to have a great view of the city.

Service: very friendly and helpful

Food: greatly satisfying.

The oysters were meaty, strong, and the frozen coconut and roasted chilli gives it a good flavour balance.

The king fish season with butter milk was fresh with an exciting combination of flavour.

The scallops were creamy and soft, and the butter sauce is flavourful but not oily.

The roasted pork was good as well, but sadly the loin skin wasn’t crisped enough so it’s too chewy to eat. The belly however tasted great. The meat melts in your mouth and the skin is very crispy.

The grilled broccolini salad was nicely charred and very refreshing with the abundant use of fresh herbs.

Even the soda drinks were nicely made(we don’t drink much so great non-alcoholic beverages is definitely a plus for us)

Highly recommend for a fun date.

First of all, I forgot to photograph few other beautiful dishes because all the food looked and smelled great, I went for them straight away!!
Ideal spot for a lovely date night or a celebration.
You get to enjoy your meals looking at the city view.
Service was excellent. From managers to the floor staff, maintain a professional friendly service. Shout out to gorgeous Jade ♥ who stopped by randomly with a beautiful smile and checking up on us to see how we were going.
Food was very good. Taxi feast [105 pp] option is a great way to try out all their food and get an idea of what chefs do. Great job chefs!
Scallop and the dumplings were delicious.
Szechuan pepper duck is a must try.
Loved the wine list. Manager helped me to pick the perfect Riesling.

Had a great time. The place deserves 4.8 to 5. Stars.

The restaurant is really modern and cool. Not too fancy, casual but really nice design. Food is great~~~ we love the king prawn dumplings. However our main (fish) came a bit later than we expected as the few small sides came quite early.
Desserts are good, and wines are good, too.
Our server~ she was lovely and friendly.

I will be back for sure :)

I recently celebrated my birthday at Taxi Kitchen, and it was a delightful dining experience. The food served at this restaurant was absolutely delicious. The menu offered a variety of options that catered to different preferences.

The staff at Taxi Kitchen were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. They provided excellent service, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Additionally, the restaurant's location provided us with a great view of the city, adding to the overall ambiance of the evening.

While the overall dining experience was exceptional, I must mention that the meat could have been slightly softer. However, this minor detail did not overshadow the other positive aspects of our meal. The flavours, presentation, and quality of the dishes were all top-notch.

I highly recommend Taxi Kitchen for special occasions or simply for a memorable dining experience. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and a stunning city view make it a worthwhile choice.

We had a fantastic dinner here. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. The waitress was very welcoming and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will return in the future.

Beautiful food and the service was good too- the staff was very much helpful in accommodating our dietary requirements particularly the food served was halal with no alcohol👍

What a fantastic dining experience. Nada our host was friendly and efficient - top service. We were a group of 10 and everyone said they loved the food and drinks. Simply wonderful!

Officially now one of my favourite lunch restaurants in Melbourne. Impeccable service — including a round of free cocktails for the table as I came for a birthday — and complementary soup. The waiter to patron ratio was such that service was always prompt and helpful. The food came out quickly and was delicious, as well as beautifully plated. The lunch menu is wonderful value. I gave a 4 for the ambiance because it was nothing outstanding — it’s a great location with good views but located on top of a pub with quite basic modern decor.

Nonetheless, Taxi Kitchen is one of Melbourne’s best hidden fusion restaurants!

A truly wonderful and relaxing lunch today at Taxi Kitchen. “Modern Asian” cuisine can be a bit hit and miss, but every single dish we ordered was outstanding. Highly recommend the Wagyu dumpling, the duck, and the XO pippies. The service staff were lovely and hospitable, especially because we bought an infant child which they kindly provided a high chair for with no fuss. I would highly recommend Taxi Kitchen.

The feast was fantastic, full of many different flavours. Seven dishes all superb and well priced considering the quality of the proteins. A joy to eat and one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had and we have had many over the last 30 years together. Thank you 😊💜🙏

The staff really went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. Kitty in particular did a great job looking after us. The food at Taxi is never a disappointment - highly recommended.

I booked for a table of 5 which included 3 teens and I'm vegan. The staff were fantastic and were so accommodating with our different needs. Our food was delayed due to a high number of walk ins during the Easter weekend, sometimes issues happen but it is the way in which the team communicated with us that made all the difference. The food was fantastic, front of house team knowledgeable and accommodating, atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, views perfect for watching the city turn from day to night. We all had a fun evening and left great memories. I will be back on a date night or for a family celebration dinner. Great work!

We went to this restaurant for a wine and food pairing dinner hosted by Penfolds. Upon arrival, we were given each a glass of champagne and served raw tuna tatare canape. It was amazing! The food served throughout the dinner was immaculately prepared and delicious. Each meal was paired perfectly with wines from Penfolds. The stand-out dish was the slow cooked beef cheek. All of us enjoyed tremendously. Well done to Taxi restaurant and the Penfolds team!

I sincerely had no idea that this restaurant was so good. The meal was absolutely life changing. I was so emotionally motivated by the way it made me feel. “Delicious” is not enough of a word to describe how great the food is.
To the head chef and his army…… you all lifted me out of depression and made me feel like a king. Thank you.

On 8 January we went to Taxi Kitchen 🚕 located in Federation Square ✨

We got:
🥩 Rare Seared Kangaroo
This was excellent! The lean meat was cooked rare so it stays soft, great contrast to the crunchy crackers.

🥟 Prawn & Ginger Dumplings
The dumplings need to be eaten in one-bite so the juiciness from it and the tom yum broth can be explode in your mouth 😋

🦆 Szechuan Spiced Duck w/ 5 Spice Caramel
One of the best duck dishes we’ve ever had! The flavor profile hits all of the tastebuds - sweet, savory, sour, spicy. The cripsy skin held the sauce really well and the meat is very tender.

🥗 Green Beans, Ginger, Rocket salad
Not the best side dish we could get as the ginger was very overwhelming and when we took it off, the salad was lacking flavors. Skip this and try their other sides instead.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience here, the food was excellent, the place was nicely spaced & decorated, and the staff was friendly. Not too sure why it wasn’t busy when we were there, but you definitely want to visit this place & book it in advanced (just incase!) 🥰

Sensational food, as always, our waitress was extremely accommodating and helped us finalise our menu options and cocktail requests.
We have been coming here for special occasions every year and the food is delicious and never fails to impress.
Highly recommend this establishment to all of my friends and colleagues.
