Melbourne Comprehensive Eye Surgeons - Cataract Surgery

I just wanted to come on here and thank Holly for being so incredibly friendly and helpful to a nervous wreck like me. She made it easy to book my cataract appointment and was transparent with all the fees. Dr Wright was also thorough and patient, taking the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. I really highly recommend this eye clinic for anyone looking for compassionate, honest and affordable care.

I have had multiple appointments and treatments at MCES for cataracts and diabetic eye issues, and could not be happier with the care I have received at every step of my journey over the past year and a bit. Every single staff member I have interacted with has been kind, empathetic and professional, from Drs Wright and Pakrou to the assistants and reception team. I struggle with severe generalised anxiety disorder, and the team have succeeded in making me feel like I was safe and heard every step of the way. Dr Wright and Dr Pakrou are amazing doctors. I bring my grandma here for ongoing treatment and I’ve never been at a clinic with such a beautiful facility and staff. Would highly recommend this clinic.

Could not have asked for better care and customer service. Dr Wright went out of his way to streamline my appointments as I live 3 hours away. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was so well informed and surgery was stress free and exactly as explained. So very happy with the results.

I'm just done with the approx 8/9 weeks since my first cataract procedure and the second 2 weeks later. All is done with both eyes now. It's great being able to see detail, colour and depth again and better vision in the dark, and I may only need cheap readers from now on and nothing for distance vision. There was some discomfort after each procedure (light sensitivity etc), some eye muscle strain for a couple of days but that is normal. Panadol helped. Just stay in bed the day after and don't go online, hard as it is. Rest BOTH eyes! Listen to music or the radio! And wear sunnies. What clinched it for me with these guys after seeing another (a far more expensive ophthalmologist) for the consultation was the amount of time spent explaining all the pros and cons and risks, the state of my eyes, looking at the photos they take with the equipment, and the excellent video to watch about the procedures. Heath and all the staff are pleasant, post-procedure sandwiches are always welcome after not eating for many hours before the anaesthetic ! I was only 1/2 awake during the procedure. Nothing to worry about.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Heathcote Wright 6 weeks ago. I suffered for quite a while with cataract, I was struggling to see, struggling to drive and most importantly struggling to work on the 3 screens of my computer to do my job. I was recommended to Dr Heathcote from my optometrist,. Dr Heathcote thank you for giving me back my eye sight, thank you for genuinely caring for your patients. I don’t wear glasses anymore as I can see clearly now. I would recommend Dr Heathcote and his wonderful staff to anyone who is suffering with any eye concerns. I had recently been investigated for glaucoma, etc and came to MCES. They have been highly professional, efficient, punctual and comprehensive with treatment and information. Following my experience, I took my aged mother here after being mismanaged elsewhere. They continued to be kind and gentle with her and finally gave an explanation of her condition. This led to treatment today and at long last she has relief and comfort. I can’t thank them enough for all they did. For their cheery nature and outstanding service.

Melbourne Comprehensive Eye Surgeons have friendly Ophthalmologist and staff. Dr Nima Pakrou is a kind Ophthalmologist who listens to all my eye concerns and treats them with exceptional skill and care. I would highly recommend Dr Nima Pakrou to anyone . Julia who treats my dry eye issues is always gentle and takes precautions to create pain free treatment. Josephine always greets me with a lovely smile and friendly chat. MCES is a great place to have eye issues resolved.

Amazing facilities. Amazing staff. All my concerns were addresses in a very timely and satisfactory manner. Everyone seems to be super efficient and very caring, and actually listen to you. I am most impressed.

Five stars and I would give more! Dr Heathcote Wright and his warm, caring staff excel in delivering patient care and outcomes. All processes were thorough and seamless. I had my cataract done, no pain, no distress. From the first contact the girls were helpful and thorough, the PANCH staff and anaesthetist caring and professional. My 3rd go at finding a GREAT surgeon who was interested in patient care and reasonably priced. My life has completely changed in so many positive ways. Thank you all so much, love your coffee and cups and your welcoming facility, continue to shine MCES!

From start to finish I have found this whole process amazing. From receptionists, to Dr. Heathcote Wright and his whole team, to Panch Day Surgery, to their staff, Dr. Tan, the anaesthetist, the whole process is flawless. I have worked for hospitals and private consulting rooms for 45 years, and cannot compare their efficiency and friendliness enough. After surgery I can see dust and dirt. Thank you I think!!

My experience with them has been excellent. I was fully informed throughout the process of not only the cost (which was 100% accurate) but also of what was involved and the potential complications associated with the operation. Dr Nima Pakrou is not only very kind and polite but also very experienced and knowledgeable as he picked up things that the previous specialist had missed, in that my other eye was also developing a similar condition but was not as bad and did not require seeing to.
The procedure was carried out at their day surgery and went without any pain or significant discomfort and everyone was very helpful and listened and acted on any concerns I brought up during the process. I opted to be sedated completely during the procedure and again, no issues. My recovery was complication and pain free and I have regained almost full vision in my eye, which before needed glasses, a great outcome.
I have now finished my second and final check-up and there are no issues and again no additional charges arose as this was part of their package. I highly recommend MCES and will be going back to them when my left eye requires a similar procedure.

Had a consultation with Dr Nima Pakrou this evening and he was wonderful to speak with and really showed a lot of care and concern. He was patient and really down to earth while remaining knowledgeable and professional. Before I went in, the lovely staff offered me a cup of tea and were super nice and welcoming. Lucky me even got a second cup while I was waiting for my eyes to adjust after pupil dilution! Overall, loved my visit here - was almost fun! Definitely recommended.

I recently took my elderly mother to have cataract surgery for both eyes. The whole experience from beginning to end was incredible. Dr Wright and all the staff delivered brilliant and professional service. Thank you.

Both myself and wife had our eye Surgery done at the same time , my wife had the cataracts done mine where just lense replacements.
We cannot fault MCES from pre op to post op and in between they have been amazing . Dr Heathcote Wright is a very professional and caring individual as well as all the caring staff.
