Ordered the croquettes, mutton skewers, tamale, mushrooms, and flan, Every dish was very delicious and beautifully flavoured, but the josper mushrooms are exceptional and an absolute must, even if you don't like mushrooms.

Cocktails were great and staff are very attentive and friendly. The space itself is intimate and well designed.

Absolutely recommend going with a group so you can order and try all the dishes!

Came here from recommendations and my housemate is vegan and also celiac. She was impressed that there was a menu totally catered to her dietary requirements. We were treated with a smile from a lovely lady and shown where we sat. I believe we were not on the servers radar as we were waiting for awhile before I helped myself to the menus 🥹 a server passing us caught on (kudos!) and quickly offered us table water and explained the menu :) The meals are so delicious and can not fault it. Our highlight was the oyster mushroom dish and also the flan 🍮 dessert! A bit of a wait between our entrees and mains however the restaurant was busy. Ambience was wonderful and would definitely recommend anyone to give this vegan restaurant a go!

My partner and I came in last minute without a reservation on Valentine's Day but still managed to get a table and amazing service. Many thanks to Dani and the team who made the experience memorable for all the right reasons from delicious dishes to gorgeous cocktails and even friendly conversation between courses. It was a delight to meet Dani and dine at Lona Misa so would 100% recommend giving it a go.

Amazing fine dining with a great interior design. We had the set menu which was great. Our favourite was the braised mushrooms and the croquettes. The set menu is also available with wine pairings.

Second time around and even more impressed. Ordered the tartare, watermelon (omg!!!) The cocido was a slight bit sweet but the cauliflower purée and parsnip was amazing. My personal fave main was the moqueca. I reckon same fillet is used as Smith and Deli with different marinade.
Photos and atmosphere don’t do this place justice.
Just a bit of a bummer we couldn’t take home leftovers, but we understand why.

The positive aspects of the services at this restaurant can be highlighted as follows:

- The peri pollo and seafood dish were mind-blowing, and the Mona Lisa cocktail with banana was also highly praised.
- The restaurant offers unique and creative dishes with banging flavors. The chorizo was well-spiced and served with crispy chips. The woodfired bread and chestnut dish was a standout.

Photos don't do this place justice. Lona Misa has been on the bucket list for some time, and it is well worth the wait.

The service is superb, with staff being very informative about the menu and very attentive throughout the evening. We ordered the set menu so the food arrived one after the other in excellent timing. The atmosphere was welcoming, spacious, and yet cosy. The lighting is great for skin tones but not great for your average smartphone when it comes to food photography.

The food is delicious, and the portions are just right for the two of us. I love their peri-peri pollo. It was succulent and mildly spiced. The cauliflower peree on the base of their topinambur is to die for - who knew cauliflower could be so delightful. Their Tijuana Caesar salad was wonderful, though on the salty side. And if you are a fan of Brazilian Flans, then you have certainly come to the right place, and it leaves you wanting more!

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. It really is hard to beat this. Oh, have I mentioned it is vegan?

Loving the new spring menu. The steak tartare with vegan egg is one of the most convincing mock meat dishes I’ve ever had, and the mutton skewers with sweet potato and aji amarillo lentil sour cream run a close second. I’m a huge tamale fan and the nopale sofrito rendition is by far the best I’ve had in Melbourne. The chickpea patatas bravas salad and then woodfired flatbread with housemade vegan cheese are also awesome. In other words, you can’t go wrong with anything. As for drinks, my votes go towards the pina colada and the chai, chocolate and rye cocktail.

It was amazing - the peri pollo and seafood dish was mind blowing. Also loved the Mona Lisa cocktail with banana.
Only thing is that we ordered a variety of dishes and the waitress told us we ordered too much food & was telling us to take out a main etc and that they don’t do takeaway boxes which I find really strange to say to someone. We just flew down from Sydney and were excited to try different dishes.
It’s also interesting they don’t keep a stack of takeaway containers in the kitchen in the instance that someone wanted to take their food away. Crazy to think that a vegan restaurant would prefer leftovers to go in the bin?

Anyways, we finished everything & got dessert too. 😛

Lona Misa was probably one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The ambience is incredible, and the staff went truly above and beyond to make the experience feel personalised and enjoyable. The food was all plant-based and so impressive, even the ‘meat’ options you wouldn’t think they weren’t real meat. The service was absolutely delightful, and the drinks list was impressive. The food has some beautiful flavours, and we absolutely loved our dinner there! We got 4 different small plate options which we absolutely devoured they were that good! Would love to go back again :)

Unique creative dishes with banging flavour. The chorizo was a good amount of spicy with crispy chips. The tartare was a bit on the looser side. Standout was woodfired bread and chestnut dish! Mushroom was also smokey and juicy but tad salty, I needed some plain bread to mop it up!

If ever there is a vegan restaurant to frequent, this is it! Hands down the best take on vegan food I’ve ever had. My non vegan partner said he would run back to it. The tartare is very surprising as to what they make it with but I’ll leave that for you to guess. Staff were wonderful.

This is a dining experience! All those amazing Latin flavours that take a little dance on your tongue! Cocktails are sensational, so perfect, crisp and delicious! I keep going back to try all the different share plates and my favourite ones!

Great vegan restaurant with unique dishes you won't find in many other places. The lions mane mushroom and peri peri pollo are excellent.

It’s been two weeks since I’ve visited and I am still thinking about my experience and dreaming about when I can go back 😱

Staff: so welcoming and friendly! when we were unsure about what to order, they were happy to make suggestions. In addition to this, they were accomodating to my needs.

Atmosphere: The lighting was perfectly moody and the decor and design felt so decadent yet cozy. Loved having some ‘after dinner’ drinks at the bar too!

Food: My friend and I opted to select a number of dishes from the menu to share rather than have the set menu. Each dish and each bite got better and better! Although I am not vegan, I do enjoy plant based meals but I have NEVER tasted vegan food this delicious.
It’s not even that the meat alternatives tasted like the “real thing” but it was because of the rich combination of flavours and textures that made this an amazing experience.

I am eager to go back and try some of the other dishes I had my eye on!

Had chosen the tasting menu and it was really awesome! The flavours of all the plant based "meats" and all other item were so incredible! I am vegetarian since many years and tried a lot of good places for having dinner but this was really special. Thanks for the really good and unique service and the special food.

Wow oh wow! We went to Lona Misa to celebrate a birthday. It didn't disappointment! We got the slaw and potatoes for starters. The slaw had a distinct lemon dressing which was delicious! Potatoes super cruncy.

For mains we shared the BBQ chicken, broccoli, pulled beef. The chicken is 11/10, being a vegan for a number of years it amazing me at how close the texture and taste was to chicken! To the point where we had to tell reminder each other it's 100% vegan! Broccoli was perfectly grilled with a soft hit of spiciness. The pulled beef was juicy, bite-size and the sauce complimented the strong beef taste.

Whilst it was pricey (more than we usually spend) it was definitely worth it!

The restaurant vibe is something special. Trendy, romantic, different and intimate.
