Venue: cosy and small. Great atmosphere.
Staff are friendly and attentive, and the service is fast.

Food : delicious ! So many flavours in each meal. We basically ordered the whole menu.
Everything came out fresh and in a timely manner.

Best Thai food in Melbourne with flavours that remind you of eating in the streets of Bangkok. Kitchen staff happy to make any dish as hot as they serve in Thailand. Very reasonable prices given such high quality food. All the waiters and waitresses very friendly and happy to accommodate any special requests.

I must say this place is the best Thai resto in the area. The service was fast with complimentary Som Tam salad. The staff were very friendly. One of them even remembered me haha. I had to dine here twice to make sure I wasn't just spellbound the first time and so I can make an unbiased review. And Yes, Som Tam did not disappoint. The food was so amazing. You can really experience the tangy taste of lemon and fish sauce in some of their dishes. All in all, If you're in Thornbury, Som Tam is a must try. Cheers!

Very happy with this local find. Ordered 2x entrees and 4x mains which was enough to satisfy 4 people. Spring rolls was heavy on the filling compared to other restaurants where all you taste is the wrapper. Mains we ordered were Pad Thai, Duck Curry, Lemongrass Beef and Soft Shell Crab (The Pacific). All servings were generous apart from the Duck Curry which I thought hardly had meat. The highlight was Pad Thai which was super tasty and prawns cooked perfectly. Definitely will be back again!

Absolutely delicious, words can't describe how great the food is here. Friendly staff, very reasonably priced, food to die for, I can not fault anything.
I would give these guys a 10 star rating if I could.
Do yourself a favour, if you haven't already, visit the guys from Som Tam, you won't be disappointed. I know have a new favourite Thai Restaurant...and so will you.

Went in randomly after reading the great reviews online. Even though the space is small its usually packed with people even on weekdays so recommend booking a table ahead of time. The food and service was amazing! The staff were nice enough to find us a table despite being really busy and the food came out pretty quick considering all the orders. The Thai salad was amazing and the duck curry was to die for! would recommend it to anyone!

Always have the best authentic Thai food when I come here and leave so satisfied! Regularly return to this place and it never fails as well as the excellent staff and service. The menu has something for everyone and is certainly the best Thai restaurant I’ve been too! A must try!

Great tasty food. Special mention to the crispy chicken wings and Massamun beef. Friendly staff, attractive prices, we will definitely come visit again.

Som Tam is a great spot for Thai food in Thornbury, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Loved the curries and fried chicken wings, looking forward to returning and trying more from their menu!

Lovely dinner last night, the yellow curry was divine and I can’t believe how yummy the coconut rice is!
The atmosphere is lovely and the waitstaff are attentive and friendly. Small but cosy restaurant, perfect setting for a winter date night

Probably the best authentic Thai food local restaurant in Melbourne. Food is always great & staff/service very good. Jungle curry one for lovers of proper food & added fresh chillies dam hot, good good good, joy. Beware green peppercorn (on stalk) can bite but that is what life is all about. Seriously yum. Always busy so three thumbs up :-)

Happy to accomodate and make some dishes vegan too, which is always a plus (for me)!
The place is cozy and smallish, so I would recommend to book if you are planning to eat here.

Delicious Thai food with spacious seating area at their backyard. We ordered Pad Ke Mao, Tom Yum and Jasmine Rice for our main and black sticky rice with Ice cream. Service was fast via their friendly hostess. Best to book upfront during weekend as we noticed the restaurant are a bit busy during dinner time.

Overall experience was good and won't hesitate to come back for another Thai meal there.

I would like to say this place is horrible to ensure that anyone who reads this review doesn't go there so I can still manage to get a table without booking, but saying such things would just be lying. This place is fresh and new and the food is seriously some of the best Thai food I have eaten in Australia! The staff are super lovely and did I mention the delicious food?! It's very hard to not order the same thing each time I go, but it's worth going back and trying more things off the menu as everything I have eaten so far is just divine! My mouth is watering just thinking about their amazing food!!!

Super clean. Friendly staff and great tasting food. A must go to for a couple, a family or a group of friends. Great atmosphere and great service. My curry was a bit too spicy for me. unprompted they have me cucumber and coconut milk to cool it down. Great service once again

Such an awesome place! Service was friendly, attentive and done with a smile. All tables were reserved when I entered (lucky we booked) and could see why. Food is absolutely delicous, and generous portions. Place is spotless, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Look forward to returning soon.

Amazing. And don’t be put off by the Jasmine Rice it’s supposed to be dark! Every dish was colourful, full of veggies and flavour. Highly recommend the fried snapper (Pla Samrod), it was beautifully presented. Wait staff were also very attentive and helpful. The entire menu is beautiful and I’m going back for more.
