The Big Ned Kelly

You certainly know where you are when you see The Big Ned Kelly in Glenrowan.
And judging by the amount of caravans parks up there it’s certainly a popular stop off point.
Of course, Ned Kelly is actually an important part of Australian history and folklore that has helped to cement the Australian culture. Yes, a criminal, but loved at the same time as a lariken who was for the people against the establishment.
It’s great that the local community keeps the town thriving.
The tourist info area needs to be free, it feels very wrong to charge an entry free. It’s better to ask for a donation.

We needed a quick stretch of the legs on our road trip and a way to discuss an iconic Australian bushranger so we stopped for another "big" statue. This one was easy to find. Not far off the main hwy and near some local shops. Recommend if you want to see more about Ned Kelly as there is the museum and other things nearby as well.

Awesome public (free) Ned Kelly trivia and information. Great pit stop site with a playground, bathrooms, picnic tables and space for a toddler to run. The cinematic doco playing was pretty fantastic too!

Awesome experience with an abundance of history to be told. Accompanied by the museum there is plenty of knowledge and entertainment for all ages.

Pretty cool. Can't miss him.. We really enjoyed our trip to Glenrowan and this interesting history. There's so much to see and do here. And of course the whole town has heaps of Kelly trinkets and gifts including different shops and pubs with the name Ned or Kelly in. Enjoyed a walk around the historical sites of the old Pub that the Kelly gang held up and the place where Ned was captured and the old little lockup. Well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful town on the way to bright and lovely community. The big Ned statue is eye capturing, shops around in which you can explore and see the dresses used during world war, kellys museum and talk to the talking cockatoo which are almost 90 years old. Cafe and Toilets are also available.

Hubby is related to Ned Kelly through marriage. I honestly no nothing about him or why he's so infamous. After stopping here, I'm keen to research the history behind him and his capture. Amazing statue of him! Keen to visit this area again one day.

Glenrowan is a great little town.
Recommend a visit through the Ned Kelly Museum $12 per Adult.

Hard to miss the Big Ned Kelly statue as you enter town. Caught my eye almost instantly. The town and area are a must see if you are following the Ned Kelly trail. Highly Recommend!

Feels very nice visiting the little town. It's good to support local business. Had a nice beef pie & a cuppa. Ned was standing there under the scorching heat, standing proudly. We planned to come back to take some pictures in costume.

Another big thing to tick off the bucket list. Well worth visiting when in the area. The town is full of Australian history and interesting gift shops.

This is another place I ride through on any trip I take on my way to NSW. Part of my routine is to get a quick snap on the way through the township before getting back on thr freeway.
