The banana leaf rice, mee goreng ayam, roti tisu and teh tarik were delicious! The flavours were spot on and the staff were very friendly. Appreciated the recommendation to try their fish curry - turned out to be my favourite!! We will be coming back very soon to try the other dishes. ⭐

The search for a Murtabak in Melbourne May we’ll be over. Although it wasn’t made with minced meat, it was still amazing.

The Maggi Goreng was delicious. Not something easily found in Melbourne too.

The owner was very warm and went to each table to ask how their meal was.

Had the Roti Tisu too which was a nice “dessert”. $40 for the 3 dishes, an absolute steal!

Definitely returning. Must try.

The best fruit rojak in Melbourne. Very original Malaysian version, with 5 to 6 different fruits, including green mangoes. They made their own rojak sauce, not too sweet. It is just fantastic. However, they missed the crunchy bit. The teh tarik and msala tea are also very good. I can taste they made their own, not using flavor powder. Full of spice flavor and not too sweet. Banana leaf is also quite good, but pricy. $10 is vegetarian version, each meat are on additional cost but good portion size, however veggies are a bit too less. The deep fried chilli is the best as part of banana leaf dish. Parking is easy to find. It is also convenient with train. Situable for large group.

If you want Roti Prata, don't go anywhere else.
We where extremely lucky to find this place, they also have a Banana Leaf special so it's worth dropping in if you are close by.
Teh Tarik also a classic for a Malaysian Restaurant A1.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. The roti canai was fresh and fluffy and flaky, and really really nice. The... curry? that's provided with the roti is quite thin, but I found it the perfect accompaniment, good for dipping, scooping, and soaking. Quite cheap as well, although if you're hungry, be prepared to order a few things or a more substantial menu option. Service was quite fast when I was there and the workers were very friendly. Will definitely come back to try some other things from the menu.

Delicious banana leaf and decent malaysia food ! We had the nasi lemak with lamb too! Super good :) worth a try but be nice and patient as they r a family run business and it gets busy and slow. Will be my next fav place

Awesome Food!!!

Freshly cooking like very few Indian and Malaysian Restaurant in Melbourne.

Banana Leaf Meals is really great. Must Try Place. More to South Indian Malaysian Taste. (Tamil Sappadu) Really Really Yummy!!!

Expect Best Taste Malaysian South Indian Food and Moderate Ambiance (which means reasonable Ambiance for the $ Spend).

A very unique restaurant in the suburbs. The only banana leaf rice in the western suburbs and the food is superb. New renovation after covid and it looks brighter

Food is tasty, just like home cooked. For those who like their rice and curry to be spicy and yet tasty, Panjali is the place for you. Many others offer food that is very spicy but lacks taste, where the chilli just kills everything but not here. Food takes time to get to your table because they don't rush things. The Banana Leaf Rice is good value too.

Talk about a ‘hole in a wall’ place, run by an elderly lady, who cooks the food herself, based on her mother’s recipe, and I’ll think Panjali!
The name is based on the late mother, who was generous enough to nourish our bodies, long after her time.
The food is a simple Tamil Malaysian LOVE AFFAIR, the dishes look austere until the first bite and you get the whole array of experiences on your palate.
I highly recommend the (veg) Banana leaf meal, served on a banana leaf paired with some lip smacking pomfret curry. This place will remind you of home ( if you’re an immigrant like me)
