The Argus Dining Room

Attended for breakfast while staying at the peppers. Dining room was cozy and had a great ambience.

Breakfast was included in our stay, but I think it has a set price of circa $30 for visitors.

The breakfast started with a share plate of granola & yoghurt, fresh fruits, and flakey fresh croissants. You can also order a barista made coffee along with fresh juices.

Following the platter, you then order a hot breakfast from the set menu, which offered 5 different choices to cater for most tastes.

We tried the smoked salmon rosti and the country breakfast.
Both were very delicious, plated beautifully, and well above the standard of hotel breakfasts.

I noticed just one chef in the kitchen, very impressed with her work as the tables filled up during the morning.

We had the included breakfast to our stay at peppers here and boy was it good! Was super impressed at the standard for an included breakfast. Will definitely be back to book dinner here

My partner and myself were in Hepburn springs for our anniversary and were wanting to book an upmarket restaurant, but didn’t want a set menu which seems to very common in this area. I booked the Argus, and I’m so happy we did.

On arrival they gave us a complementary bottle of bubbles, and the service throughout the night was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was also amazing, I had the beef cheek which was so tender it broke up barely touching it and my partner had the Goats Cheese Agnolotti pasta which was to die for, and my god the sorbet was just dangerously good.

All in all, a lovely venue, the table was quiet and intimate with charming fireplaces and candles. I’d really recommend the Argus to anyone looking for a intimate charming setting without a set menu. Thanks to all the staff for making our evening so special.

We usually dine during lunchtime in Argus and the food is really good. Fresh local produce evrrytime. Great value lunch meals along with great atmosphere. Absolutely love the experience. Great for a romantic day out.

My partner and I had dinner here tonight and the food was amazing!! Rather than the set menu we were able to order individual dishes. I had the
Linguini Cacio e Pepe with Prawn Tartare and it was mouth watering with so much flavour!! My partner had the beef cheeks with mash and red wine jus. Also really good!! Good portion and heaps of flavour. Service was also excellent.

Had breakfast here today. We were sat down on our table and given a plate of Crossaints, butter, jam, Fruit salad and Yoghurt pots to share which was delicious. Then we got to pick a dish of the menu. Service was fantastic, staff very attentive and friendly. Food was delicious and the coffee was one of the best!

Loved the way the Argus is leaning into the Italian heritage of the area, with classic Italian influence in every dish. Also loved the fresh, local ingredients on show.

Absolutely phenomenal. The food was divine. We had a chicken and chorizo risotto, with a side of glazed pumpkins with currants and walnuts, followed by custard tarts for desert. We also had excellent wine in a gorgeous sitting room afterwards. I highly recommend the Cabernet Merlot they have by the glass from SA

The ambiance was perfect, with some light jazz playing at just the right volume. And the gardens were a pleasant retreat even in winter.

Overall an excellent conference room with easy access to the gardens. I thought the coffee could have been a bit nicer, but it was easy to drink and served hot all the way to lunch.

Highly recommend this venue for a conference or lunch. Had an excellent time.

Loved the Feed Me menu, even better with the locals night discount! The food was all well paced and delicious. The tempura mushrooms were amazing! Nice atmosphere and great service by Eliza, best we have received in a long time :) Can’t wait to return!

I really enjoyed my night at the Argus dining room. Firstly, the staff were really friendly and easy to talk to. The menu had great choices, I love when a menu doesn’t have too many main options, you then know that the chef has perfected each dish and I couldn’t fault anything me and my boyfriend had, the sides were a great start and we devoured the barbeque tempeh and the braised beef. This is a great spot for a date, some wine and dinner, you’ll leave super happy!

Beautiful place lovely atmosphere , friendly staff , prompt service and attention to detail are just a few things I could say to describe this resturaunt when we arrived the vibe was quite relaxed and friendly the dinning room was low lit but very comfortable and has a sense of elegance to it . The food we received was fantastic it was very rich with flavour and had a certain depth to it , the smoked trout they have is just incredible if you're lucky enough to get a chance to try it I highly recommend doing so , me and my partner opted for the feed me option and by the end of the even iing we couldn't fault the chefs selection and where very very full we couldn't eat another morsel , and it wasn't for a lack of trying the food truly was incredible. Onto the service the two waitresses that where on shift that evening were very professional and attentive checking up on us after each serving and always able to see us for any extra orders within a few minutes . This place is truly a gem and I'm very happy that we were able to experience it for ourselves.

Always the best locals dinner experience. We love the ambience and the changing menu to suit the seasonal menu.
We suggest you finish the evening with a tipple by the fire in the lounge after your meal in the dining room.

The octopus entree, linguine with raw prawns, braised beef cheek, and sorbet are all fantastic. The staff were more than friendly as well!

A very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere with classic design and interior while lovely jazz music caressing your ears and carries you to 40s like in movies! what could make it better? a warm mineral spa in Peppers hotsprings after a delicious dinner and wine and getting ready to cuddle the sleep like you haven't had it for weeks!

Amazing food! Definitely recommend the degustation. Didn't get the name of the waitor unfortunately, but he was very professional and tentative to our needs. Would come back!

We had our dinner and breakfast here, and we love it. Great food and fantastic service. The potato gnocchi is a must try!

A delightful surprise in regional Victoria. Professional service and food that surpasses much of the fine dining available in Melbourne.
