Really great, a lot of info on locals in the 1900 and before. A lot of old machinery and cars. Heritage buildings. The volunteer staff were brilliant, good knowledge and a pleasure to chat with. Wel worth the the stop in Wubin.

Today we were fortunate enough to get a tour through the museums with a personal guide, Trevor.
This place is awesome, so worth the visit. Part of a weekend away from Perth:
Friday - Perth to Lake Ninan, Wongan Hills - 2hrs drive
Sat - Lake Ninan to Coalstream Conservation Park - 3.5hrs drive
Sun - Coalstream to Perth - 4.5 hrs drive

This is a great historic display and well worth a visit by locals and visitors.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the establishment of such a wonderful place in Wubin.
Also, well done to the volunteers who donate their time to maintain the museum and spend hours in attendance so that people can see everything that is there.

I was glad to meet some fine country gentlemen - the stories told memorable and my token twenty bucks to each donation box was not really enough! My wallet was empty.
Their stories and history are Golden for the young generations. These old lads have history that must be written down!

This Museum is a "Do NOT miss" opportunity if you are within 50 Km or so. It is TERRIFIC!
It is split into several different-sized museums. One has a wonderful collection of rocks, all clearly labeled, a large fossil, and some craft items.
The machine shed is huge. It contains vintage cars in beautiful condition, old and interesting farm machinery, some videos showing the development of wheat farming (Wubin is in the wheat belt), antique stationary engines, and some old household items. There even is a horse (made of fiberglass) and sulky on display.
Another shed is an old wheat bin. In it there are working models and videos showing the history and development of storing and transporting wheat from farm to ship. There is a section (with video) about the history and purpose of the three rabbit proof fences in WA.
I learned lot about wheat farming and the history of the wheat belt. I was given a personal guided tour which I really appreciate.
There is no entry fee, but donations go to an overseas orphanage that DOES get all the money you give.
DO visit Wubin museum and leave plenty of time to spend there - definitely worthwhile. 🙂

The Wubin Wheatbin Musuem is quite the find! It has an operating model of the wheat processing process - which according to our local expert is very accurate! Also they have an amazing collection of rocks and cars in adjacent parts of the museum - well worth a stop! Recommended!
