Beautiful food. Ordered the mackerel set and steak, cooked perfectly, not too oily, and steak was exactly as ordered. The sashimi was fresh. Came with a handmade dessert, a mousse with fresh fruit. Can't wait to come back again.

lives up to the expectations, such good quality food. I had the Chicken Teriyaki Meshi. I could defiantly taste the experience and passion into the dish. The atmosphere was ambiance, I could tell that the place very clean and handled very well. customer service was very lovely, helpful and knew lots about how the dish was prepared. such good value for price, defiantly give this place ago, no hesitations. will be coming back to try other things from the menu :)

Amazing. From the Okra we had as a starter, to the Mackerel and Sirloin we had for mains, everything looked great, tasted great and all at the perfect temperature.

Great healthy lunch option. I had the tofu rice option and was very happy with it. Ordered a side of chips and they were home cut and fresh. Only criticism about them however was they were pretty small for $4.50 and would have benefited from some seasoning (chicken salt, rosemary).

Lunch was well packed, their online ordering system worked like a gem.

What a hidden gem. Only a short walk from Camberwell Junction
The menu had some less common items which we were very tempted to try. We ordered the agedashi tofu, okra nibitashi, chicken miso katsu set, dessert special - hojicha tiramisu and for drinks we got their matcha lemonade and white peach housemade ice tea. The tofu came in bite size pieces which i really appreciated. Lightly fried and seasoned just right. The Okra nibitashi was something we’ve never tried before, but it was a simple and delicious dish. Chicken miso katsu set came with the chicken katsu - juicy tender and crispy. With sides of housemade potato salad (amazing!), karaage chicken, miso soup and tuna sashimi. Generous portions too! We were very full but couldn’t resist the dessert special which was also delightful.
Service felt very welcoming and genuine. And the atmosphere was great, not too busy (until the word gets out!) cosy, clean, simple.
We will definitely be back to try more of their menu as it seems they change their items quite often.

I was introduced to Tenkyu by a friend, and it's lovely. I've tried several things so far, my favourites being the tempura vegetable curry and the miso tonkatsu set. It's a family owned and operated small business and the people are lovely.

Had the tempura and the Meshi, I have to say I am very impressed. Would recommend to all tempura lovers.

Ten Kyu has moved from Glenferrie Rd near Hawthorn Town Hall to a larger space on Riversdale Rd near Camberwell junction. Menu has expanded and now has something that works for a fast casual lunch through to a low key special meal occasion.

We almost didn’t check it out as we thought we knew the menu from before, which had been too limited for us. But glad we looked again. The new menu has good everyday options and lots of less easily found items.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and sake, and very glad to see traditional desserts available in addition to the more popular modern options.
We’re glad to live nearby - this is now our new local Japanese restaurant !

What a great local find! Not what you expect as you pass by but the food here is delicious, full of flavours and so fresh. Best steak dining out in a long time. This place is a must!

I ordered fish tempura. honestly the batter was light and the fish cooked perfectly. the mayo had a light tang and accentuated the flavours in the bowl.

Food was delicious, I had the chicken teriyaki with yum yum prawns meshi. The chicken was very tender and the sauces blended really well with the whole dish.

Delicious food. All homemade sauces. The house Sake was great. Nice traditional tasting Japanese food. Highly recommended
