Great Rail Trail. Did Yea to Alexandra and back. If you intend to do this section i recommend starting at Alexandra as the climb from Alexandra to the cheviot tunnel is much harder than from Yea and it's worse to do it on the way back after 50 km!

Would have been a nice picnic area if it wasn't completely overgrown.
However, toilets are maintained and clean.

Great rail trail with toilet facilities occasionally along the way. We rode out and back from Alexandra with kids in the trailer and it wasn't at all difficult. We also were lucky enough to see 2 separate echidnas on a hot day.

Rode here from Alexandra on the rail trail. There is nothing here but a couple of signs about the history of the place and some toilets.

On the GVT Catkin is where you branch out. A nice section of the ride.
