Box Grove Vineyard

I have been a Queensland customer of Box Grove Vineyard and the delightfully engaging Sarah Gough for some years but not had the opportunity to visit. We finally did whilst staying in Melbourne this week and went to the Vineyard for a tasting.

It is the delightful place the website photos suggest and Sarah has created such an ambience enhanced by her welcoming style.
We spent 1.5 hours with Sarah sampling several of her wines and a soon to be released Mourvedre/Garganega/Sezao. A delighful wine.

After the tasting Sarah sent us down to Eighteen Sixty in Nagambie for lunch. Also a must visit if you are in the area.

A great days outing. I highly recommend Box Grove, get in touch with Sarah, try a few of her wines and put a visit to the vineyard on your bucket list!

DO not miss out on going to the cellar door here. Sarah is a font of knowledge about winemaking and her particular varieties. The wines are refined and elegant. Be careful they are very addictive.
I phoned the Vineyard on a weekend during early COVID for a booking, and unfortunately they were booked out for the weekend, but offered a visit on the Monday which worked perfectly as my daughter was visiting from Canberra until the Tuesday.

Our favourite tasting of our weekend. Sarah made the tasting very personal, she had fantastic knowledge of the wines and production and had some slightly different wines which was also great. We spent some good money on goods wines and will definitely go back here.

Sarah provided us the most incredible tasting experience. She talks you through each wine in detail while providing delicious nibbles and imparting an incredible depth of knowledge and experience in the most welcoming space. This is one of the most special tastings we have ever done and the wines were absolutely beautiful, showcasing an interesting collection of international grapes that Sarah has chosen to work with to complement the local terroir. We can't wait to visit again soon and will be purchasing many more wines in the interim! Thank you Sarah!

This is by far the best winery I've been to in the area. Sarah is so welcoming and knowledgable, her passion for winemaking really shines through when she's hosting a tasting. The location is stunning, I wish we had planned more time to explore the vineyard. If you can only make it to one wine tasting in the Avenel/Nagambie region, make it Box Grove!

Such an amazing and personal experience at Box Grove Vineyard. Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and very welcoming. Had such a great time with gorgeous wine and meals. Highly recommend, will definitely be back!

Oh my! What a treat to visit this winery. The selection was impeccable and Sarah’s knowledge is outstanding. A must visit for any Heathcote/Nagambie wine trip. Call in advance to reserve a spot.

If you come to the area you MUST come to this winery. The lady did a lovely wine tasting in a very homely, warm, comfortable space with amazing wine!
