Came in around 12ish on a Monday. I almost walked past the place as it looked dark from outside and I thought it was closed. It’s in a really quiet location, and on a Monday noon there was plenty of parking around. I walked in and was greeted by a server pretty quick. I said I wanted a table and they asked if I needed a powerpoint! Loved it. I had planned to eat lunch while doing some work so really appreciated that.

They were out of the breaky bowl so I ordered the poke bowl with chicken instead; drink was an oat cap. Everything came quickly. Poke bowl used some really fresh ingredients; the sesame dressing always tying the bowl together. Cap was good, and so was the almond croissant I ordered for takeaway (not pictured - but it was huge and had berries in it).

Everything came up to a $28 total. While paying, I think it was the owner who was on the register. He said Anytime Fitness members get a discount. Unsure if it applies on certain days/certain times, and what the percentage is but flash your key fob if you have one!

Overall vibe is welcoming and warm. Looks like a local fave for a lot of people.

Nice little cafe with awesome food. Had eggs Benedict, French toast, cappuccino, and chai late. Service was great and food came fast. It's definitely worth a try for a good breakfast in the area.

Had brunch here which was great, just note that the lunch menu starts at 11am.
The chocolate milkshake was delicious and paired well with my breakfast.
Staff were friendly and accommodating with menu change requests and service was quick.
Recommend a stop if you're in the area.

I often find myself disappointed after visiting highly recommended places. Wellll not with cafe 1809. They easily have the best beef burger I’ve everrrr eaten. And I love burgers!! Woww I’ll definitely be back and I’ll bring some people. Also, the service was great.

1809 is a humble, pet friendly cafe in Glen Waverley. Today we tried the:

▪SOFT SHELL CRAB BURGER ($21) with asian slaw, chipotle mayo, peanut butter dressing and fries
▪TACOS ($18) with pulled pork, pickled cabbage, crushed peanut, smashed avocato, sweet potato crisp and chipotle sauce

I order the soft shell crab burger almost every time I come here— the peanut butter dressing with the chipotle mayo is a surprisingly great flavour combination, complementing really well with the slaw and crab. The tacos weren’t too greasy and love the abundance of colourful textures and flavours to balance the pulled pork.

They’re usually really busy during peak hours which is no surprise given the food is great and the price is very reasonable. The service we had today was lovely, super friendly and attentive.

Humble local café with lots of love to give.

1809 did not disappoint; lovely ambience, great service and scrumptious brunch offerings.

Booking online was easy, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Coffee art was beautiful - see photo below of latte, and the chai was also very nice.

As we arrived after 12, we were spoilt to both breakfast and lunch choices. Wild Mushrooms dish (image shown) was a very unique offering - very enjoyable, other may find it a bit on the bland side. Smashed avocado (image shown) was also delicious. Side of chips had generous serving size with tomato sauce top ups on request.

Overall, a very nice brunch experience - we will be back!

Staff here are pretty friendly and helpful, they book me in when I just walked in and told me a estimated waiting time, which is pretty accurate.

Coffee here is as good as usual, and I do like the hash brown in the big brekky, it’s very crispy and not oily. The chilly scramble egg is good too.

Café 1809 did not disappoint! Had the pleasure and privilege of meeting the owner, who was so attentive and sincere in serving us. Ask him anything and he’ll be more than happy to help you with it.

The food was very delicious and filling. We got a flat white, prana chai, eggs benedict and cinnamon scroll which totalled to be $39.00.

The eggs ben was uniquely well done with 2 panko fried eggs, an addictively creamy hollandaise sauce, nicely seasoned slow cooked pulled pork on 2 rotis with spinach and mushrooms as a contrast.

We picked the cinnamon scroll on recommendation from the owner and it surely didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t too sweet and the cinnamon flavour was well balanced.

Drinks were smooth and aesthetically pleasing — a good accompaniment to the dishes.

We felt really well taken care of and will definitely be back for more!

A hidden gem on an unassuming small street. The Benedict was the stand out meal - the eggs were crumbed to perfection and the roti was magical. The French toast was also amazing. Super friendly service as well.

This tucked away cafe in the suburban area is worth all the hype! Coffee taste amazing but the food is even better. Food is so good we came twice in 2 days! The french toast was super springey, light and fresh with the seasonal fruits on the sides! The chilli scrambled eggs were rich and super savoury, and works especially well with the steak and mushroom topping! Everything else on the menu is worth the cost and the staff and manager are always super friendly and accommodating.

I would come back here again because the food was amazing. I ordered the signature benedict and the proportion was generous. The presentation was beautiful, it was laid out neatly and also colourful. It made me feel hungry. It was very loud in there but I liked the atmosphere because it was modern and it was comfortable. The food arrived quick and the staff were friendly.

Although have heard about hit and miss experiences in the past, the few times I have been have been great, service is friendly and attentive. They are also very accomodating to changes for example, I could not have bacon in the chicken burger and they offered to change it to avocado. Food portions are generous and I left feeling full and satisfied. Only suggestion I would give is that the food gets super cold easier so it would be nice if it was warmed up a bit more. Setting of cafe is nice and cosy, and nice isolated cafe.

Undoubtedly the most amazing coffee. We end up ordering two cups of both Cappuccino and flat white

And it was a great smashed avacado/ I love the fact that they spread smashed avacado on both slice of sourdough with sides of halloumi stick which was great .

I want to visit them again for Benedict or French toast again

Menu had good Varieties

This busy little Cafe had an awesome atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was amazing, quite possibly the best mocha I've had in Melbourne so far! The portion sizes were spot on and the ricotta hotcakes were amazing highly recommend!

Cafe owner was so friendly & talkative. The brunch item I wanted to order was out of stock so he allowed me to create my own ‘off menu’ lunch order so I could get the cravings under control.

Any other cafe would have simply told me to order something else of the menu - very accommodating and kind.

Came here recently to have brunch, had the fried chicken burger and the nutella smoothie.
Was quite good, chicken was crispy, the bun onto of the smoothie was not too sweet, just right.
