The Main Corner

A great little restaurant/cafe on main Street of Upwey offering a spin on the traditional Banh Mi. It's a little pricier than your standard roll, but they certainly fill it to the brim. The taste inspired more of a Korean style flavour with how the chicken is cooked and the sauce on top has a great spicy kick to it.

Service was excellent and the food came quickly. We sat outside and enjoyed the rolls which we could barely finish.

On recommendation from the fine lads at Upwey Pizza I visited The Main Corner and was delighted with what I found. The coffee is brilliant, they make a superb small strong latte. The dine-in experience delightful, both in or out. I can’t decide if the Ruben or the Tuna toasty is my favorite so rotate between the two. The owner Joanne is a treasure to Upwey and the ambience of her cafe is perfect. A must visit.

We really enjoyed our experience at Main Corner. The service was brilliant and they had a really extensive range. The cafe itself is actually quite large, on the inside. We settled on the Bahn mi, which was great value. Highly recommend

My family and I had the set meal for dinner and it was AMAZING!! Each dish was made with tender love and care, and it definitely showed on each plate. With generous servings and very reasonable pricing, we will DEFINITELY BE BACK. The duck taco was a perfect blend of Asian flavours with a western spin, and the duck was juicy and succulent. The prawn and scallop came out steaming hot and was perfect for a cold winter night. The fried calamari was crunchy and was paired with a tasty sauce on the side. The pork belly bao buns were soft and delicious, with a generous piece of pork belly. The tempura prawns were fried to perfection and super tasty. And last but not least, we received a super generous serving of pork ribs that melted off the bone, and was paired with a refreshing coleslaw salad. Overall it was an amazing experience and we were left very satisfied!!

Great food and quick service! We had the lamb ribs, fried chicken, Asian greens and spring rolls. The Lamb ribs I highly recommend and also the fried chicken was very tasty.

Ate outside with the family on a lovely mild summer day. The pork and the fried chicken banh mi we're pretty tasty (but I'd ask for extra chilli next time for more zing). Milk shakes really yum, and coffee good too. Well worth a visit if you're travelling through main street.

The standout here was the service right from the start. Warm, welcoming, and exuding competence. Inside was nice and cosy, though I chose to sit outside. The coffee was good, and I got a basic ham& cheese toasted sandwhich. My only critique is that the sandwhich was squashed flatter than I prefer - but this didn't take away from the taste.

Amazing food! Great quality with a very moderate price. Love the bistro feel! We will be back! Such a cosy warm place with great staff.

Our family come to see Jo & her team as many times as we can a week. We’ve tried about everything & they’ve never failed us with drinks & food, always perfect. They really care about their customers & giving them the best experience everytime. We appreciate the main corner so much.

We came here for our wedding anniversary and the place delivered more than we expected! A delicious meal to share! We had a delightful time amd would highly recommend!

Kelly is an amazing host and we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here. I can't believe we have something like this out here in the sticks. The food was magnificent and the wine list was perfect. We had the Pork Belly and Duck Spring rolls for entree. Both were fantastic! The sauces were amazing. We shared a Red Snapper dish and the Angus Beef for our mains and they were both awesome. We cannot fault our experience and will definitely be back.
Perhaps next time we'll try the 'Degustation'!

This is a hidden gem. Fabulous selection of food with a difference and all perfect in every way. Joanne is a fabulous host and it's one of our regular restaurant go to places. You do not need to go to the inner city to get food like this. It's all here.

The Korean Fried Chicken Bahn Mi and Katsu sandwich are out of this world. And the staff are incredibly kind

Very very good food. Top shelf. Amongst other things we had a Pork Hock braised in black ginger tea and a whole baby barramundi in a yellow curry pineapple sauce. It was incredible. Not a cheap place to eat, but the food is amazing and well worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful with the menu, and they cater well to the kids. A brilliant spot.
