Great birding location and viewing the upper reaches of Lake MacDonald. There is a boat launch (gravel). 1 covered picnic table. There is a short walk to a bird hide.

There is a covered picnic table at the carpark. People also launch their canoes here. The short, flat walk to the bird hide is easy and pleasant but can get muddy after rain. I saw a black necked stalk, yellow robins, silver eye and comb headed jancana here. Well worth the visit. Especially if you like birds.

Quiet tranquil and easy ...mind you when the lake is drained soon it will be very different ! Dead and dieing fish stuck in airless mud holes ,rotting lake weed and shore birds struggling to survive .best advice ....see it soon !!!

Water levels are down at present, Oct 2023. More birdlife to see than the Everglades trip....A good test for amatuer-professional photographers track and shooting skills.

Short walk to a nice birdhide. Plenty of birds to see at the right time of year.

Very pretty and good for birdwatching. We saw a crane & a black swan. Quiet and isolated.
