Cooroy Chinese Restaurant

Been going here for 15 years and loved every meal. Since new ownership the food has gotten fresher and better. Recommend the deep fried salt and pepper squid (and add chilli!).
Estimated wait times can be off, but this is normally due to large number of customers ordering because the place is so popular.

the two young beautiful girls at the front of the restraunt were so lovely i believe their names were Abby and Ely and they treated me with so much respect and kindness i hope they get a pay raise . the honey chicken was very well cooked and was juicy i didnt wake up salmonella vomiting everywhere like i did at the last restraunt.

It’s a hole in the wall on the street in a lovely little country town. Now only takeaway thanks to COVID and it’s popularity, the food is superb made of quality ingredients, more than adequate serving size, and quick as possible delivery time. The fact you may have to wait up to an hour for takeaway shows how popular this place is. Their sauces have never been bettered in any fancy restaurant. We sing it’s praises at every opportunity.

Cooroy chinese is by far the best Chinese Food on the Sunshine Coast by far and we have been looking and trying for so long

I don’t normally get Chinese food because I’m always disappointed or underwhelmed. But this is definitely the best Chinese food on the coast!
Garlic Beef = perfect
Shandy special = lovely
BBQ pork fried rice = delicious
All meals had heaps of meat etc not just filled with veggies!
I’ll be back!

I came to Cooroy Chinese hoping for a nice home-cooked meal, and I left with exactly that. The girl who served me was absolutely fantastic, I asked for her name and she told me Hazel, so great work employing this lovely lady, keep up the great work Cooroy Chinese!!

Been working for the owners, Chang and Jen for 2 years now and have enjoyed my time working there to the fullest. Starting out I was surprised to find out that almost everything including the sauces are made from scratch and are stored appropriately in order to keep the ingredients fresh, the only food that is bought it are the spring roles, curry puffs, prawn cutlets and the dim sims.

The owners are the chiefs and work hard on every dish to make sure it turns out as good as it possibly could be. Chang has had professional training in Chinese cuisine from high end restaurants in China.

Over the 2 years of working there I have tried almost every dish, as after a shift they give you a list of orders from the menu that they will cook for you for free are your dinner. My favourite dishes would have to be the Singapore noodles, and the roast duck.

The people that work there are super friendly and when we weren't busy they would be happy to talk about my schooling, what I wanted to do in the future etc.

I've been training my brother as apart of the back of house staff and am currently waiting for someone to take my place, but I will miss working for Chang and Jen. Cooroy Chinese is by my opinion the best Chinese shop on the sunshine coast not only for the great food but also as a first job.

i worked at Cooroy Chinese for over 3 years and it was amazing! The owners and family are the most hardworking people with inspiring work ethic. Chang and Jan can make an order in 5 minutes, the wait can get quite long due to the popularity of the restaurant but it is definitely worth it. All meals are made in a little kitchen by scratch (even the sauces, but not the entrees which are freaking delicious omg the dimsims 10/10 the sweet+sour sauce is so good) Dine-in is currently closed due to demand of take-away and i believe also hopes of renovating the kitchen at some point to accommodate the high demand. If you're looking for a part-time job in highschool I'd definitely recommend, the menu numbers helped my memory skills and that easily translated over into improved schoolwork. The rush of serving such a big community of people (people drive sometimes 40+ minutes just for the food; its that good) definitely helped my problem solving skills and ability to manage tasks efficiently. plus the free meal after each shift was always excellent! If a mistake was ever made with orders it was solved effectively and with grace from the owners if it was ever my fault. I loved training new staff members it gave me responsibility and i made wonderful friends. Overall, i dare say the most successful restaurant in Cooroy for good reason and certainly best Chinese food on the sunshine coast. My love to the Chen's ✨❤ bless them for hiring me and bestowing even a fraction of their capability to complete any task and warm kindness

Long wait but definitely worth it.
Definitely don't hesitate to try this fantastic Chinese.

Fantastic food.

Better than most Chinese offerings on the sunshine coast. The food is well balanced and full of flavour, rather than been sickly sweet or overly salty, it's always perfect.

Vegetables always look fresh and the food isnt greasy. Meat is nice and early chewy or fatty.

We are always happy with our takeaway

Chinese food often disappoints me because it's never done well but I love this little take-away restaurant in Cooroy. It's always fresh and tastes delicious.
