Jan's Cafe

I didn't go to Jan's Cafe. I went to Scotty's Service Centre which is behind Jan's Cafe and to the best of my limited knowledge Scotty does not sell take away . But as a mechanic it would be near impossible to find better.

A fantastic spot to get fish & chips & burgers. The staff are all super friendly & this place has got a well earned reputation for great takeaway!
With over 30 years service on the border, it's well worth stopping in. 😋😋

In my opinion about the best chips and potato cakes in town. Haven't had fish from here so can't comment on that. When I've had burgers from here I've been happy.
Staff always seem to be friendly and the place is well kept clean. I would recommend this place.

Ok. You are in Albury or just passing through. Even if you are on the Freeman, pull off at the Thurgoona exit and turn left. Then turn left again at the lights. Go for a bit until you see the big Caltex servo and then do a u-turn. You should have already spotted Jan's as you were driving toward the Caltex - it's on the northbound side of the road in a Service Road with masses of parking. Stop and go in. This is the best traditional fish-n-chip shop in town. And I should know, I've tried most of them. Fish & chips are great, really great. Nice big chunky chips with actual flavour, so cooked perfectly. Excellent fish, moist without being greasy - and I have no idea how they managed that - but on the other side of excellent. The burgers are exceptional, absolutely brilliant. A nice large patties that actually covers the bun, and thick as well, not squeezed down wafer thin like most laces, but a really good thickness so you know the original meatball wasn't about the size of half a golf ball. These patties are between a golf ball and a ping-pong ball and grilled to perfection. Charred on the outside and juicy on the inside so you get a crunch not solely derived from the lettuce and wants to break your teeth. They have a full sandwich bar which looks great and the people are really friendly and happy to meet your culinary oddities. My GOTO fish-n-chip shop in Albury. If the directions don't get you there then Google probably will. And we'll worth it as well.

The best fish and chip shop in Albury Wodonga. Amazing, quick service and the chips are cooked in fresh oil. The Tassie scallops are the best we have ever had. Beautiful family owned business

Still the best fish and chips and burgers on the boarder. The shop isn't first class but the tucker is the best. 6 days a week. Not open Monday's.

I love Jan’s cafe! The food is always amazing and the service is exceptional. It’s a good dinner for a couple or a family and it is very affordable with a range of deals that suit most. I would definitely recommend Jan’s to my friends and family
