Had the best day out with Micheal and Zoe on their last trip of the season. We had amazing weather, and were able to circumnavigate the whole island, we saw 4 different species of pelagic birds, humpback whales, seals, wombats, incredible geological formations and both their knowledge, hospitality and passion for the island were 5⭐ highly recommended tour

We had an excellent one day cruise to Maria Island and Ile des Phoques with Mike Davis from East Coast Cruises. On a beautiful calm day we saw dolphins jumping by the boat, saw the inside of some beautiful sea caves, with impressive seamanship from Mike, and lots of seals on land and in the water. On Maria Island there was a lot of wildlife wandering about as well as an interesting historical site. The guides looked after us really well on the boat, the food was delicious, and we appreciated the range of provision of complimentary drinks. Would thoroughly recommend this for a special day out.

Four of us went on the Island of Seals and Maria Island cruise today. We all had a fabulous day with Michael and Rachel. The weather was kind to us and we spent a marvelous time gradually getting nearer to the many seals on the rocks and in the ocean. Our time on the northern end of Maria Island included entering caves with differing layers of colors in the rocks, watching seals frolic around us, seeing the fossil limestone area.
It was followed by an excellent guided walk around historic Darlington with Rachel. The day finished with a view of the painted rocks.

The food was also fresh and appropriate for this type of tour and the experience and expertise of Michael & Rachel made for an altogether memorable day.

Maria Island is a remarkable place and it only reveals itself fully if you get to see it from the water. The cruise was fabulous with a trip to look at a seal colony and the amazing rock formations. Meals and drinks provided where great and the staff could not be more helpful with knowledge of the island. Highly recommend this to people who want to visit Maria.

A little windy on the day of our cruise to Maria Island which meant we couldn’t get to see the eastern side of the island however it didn’t matter because we had a blast! We saw lots of wildlife; sea eagles, seals, wombats, kangaroos, Cape Barren geese, and literally dozens of dolphins on the way back to Triabunna! The rocks are spectacular and Mike is very knowledgeable making the tour super interesting. A yummy morning tea and lunch was provided. While on the island we walked to the fossil rocks within an hour with lots of time to spare for taking photos of whale bones, ruins, animal life, etc. All in all, a wonderful day!

Absolutely 1000/10!!!
We loved having Michael and his crew take us on a once in a lifetime journey! Out of our entire time in Tasmania with multiple tours etc, this was our favourite and most memorable! 💛💛

Beautiful day cruise to Maria Island. Had a shuttle pick up from Hobart then leave on the boat from a pier about 30mind away. Boat itself was great, very comfortable and good food (and wine!) supplied. Island cruise is gorgeous and we were lucky to see dolphins that came and played near the boat, along with seals. The history of the island is interesting and you'll find wombats and paddymellons (wallaby) everywhere. Highly recommend and enjoyed the cruise.

Thanks Michael and Rachel for such a great day. Saw so much of Maria Island that you wouldn’t see from land alone. We are thrifty with our hard earned cash and thought it was worth ever cent

This was a lovely day out. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. While the weather may impact your route, they make sure you see seals, dolphins and natural wonders. The walk is a gentle stroll around Darlington and the catering was delicious.

It's a once in a lift time experience! The weather was a bit cloudy but not raining - which also means a good chance to see animals! We were so excited to meet our captain Michael and chief officer (?) Zoe; they welcomed us on-board and called us by names (25+ some ppl on board that day) - they truly pay efforts to let you make the most from this trip! Apart from their hospitalities, Michael is so knowledgeable about the whole island and the marine ecology (he explains a lot about the rocks and the beautiful fossil cliffs).
We were also lucky enough to see a group of dolphins! Michael is really passionate about what he's doing and really make this cruise a most memorable experience! Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic day with Maria Island Tours - could not have asked for a better experience. Mike, Rachel and Millie were all so friendly, so knowledgeable and made such an effort with everyone onboard. There was such a lovely relaxed and chilled vibe with no feeling of rushing to be at a certain place at a certain time which was refreshing. The wider office team were very friendly and helpful too! We saw so much of Maria Island from the boat despite it being a bit of a chilly, windy day - even managing to go into one of the caves! We saw lots of wildlife - loads of wombats, kangaroos, pademelons, seals and more! Food was good, boat was comfortable and we enjoyed both our free time and the guided walk around the island. Definitely one of our top memories from our trip to Australia - will be recommending to all our friends and family!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip on board Michael's cruise on 9th December. His sincerity and humor shined through while interacting with each guest, making everyone feel welcomed and entertained. His steady and experienced navigation throughout the trip made it a smooth sailing experience even though the water was choppy and the weather wasn't on our side. Katherine, the crew on board took care of us very well and made sure we were able to see all the views and not get wet by the rain and sea water. My wife was feeling a bit sea sick and she specially went up to the upper deck to check on her even though it was choppy. Her guide through the walk around Maria island was informative and she took care to pace the walk as we have young children with us. Overall an excellent experience for the young and old with very caring crew.

An exciting day, not only seeing the stunning coastline of Maria but exploring the on the island itself. Stories of Indigenous history, early European explorers, convict, an entrepreneurial Italian, and National Park status are shared throughout the tour by a passionate Skipper Mike and his brilliant guide Claire. We saw Sea Eagles, both Common and Bottlenose dolphins and Albatross, along with many other sea birds, And of course many wombats, some even with babies! By the end of the day you have chatted with everyone on board, and as a solo traveller, I felt super comfortable. A friendly atmosphere, and a most amazing adventure shared. Thank you team MIC.

The tour around Maria Island was excellent. Michael and Steve provided everybody with great commentary about the history of the Island and surrounding area. The scenery was stunning and the company was great. A good size boat that kept us dry and had excellent 360 degree outlook inside and out. Small enough to be personal but big enough to handle any sea conditions comfortably. Steve was an excellent skipper and comfortably manoeuvred the boat into some sea caves barely bigger than the boat. A must do if you visit Tassie

The word "superb" does not do this tour justice, I've given it 5 stars only because Google won't let me give it more.
Tour leader and captain Michael is a Marine Scientist so completely in his element when you're at Ilse De Plogues with the seals. We were very lucky on the way out to find a pod of dolphins that were happy to play with us.
Then the magnificent sea caves before sailing to Maria Island where Michael and dad Steve talked about the history of the Island.
What a day!!! Very highly recommended and we'll be back.

We had an amazing Day cruise to Maria Island and Ile des Phoques with Mike and his crew from East Coast Cruises. A nice day with just a little wind and swell, we got some history on the bay and the area up to present time, and then spent quite a bit of time observing the seals on land and in the water. On Maria Island there was a lot of wildlife wandering about as well as some very interesting history to learn about. The crew/guides looked after all passengers really well on the boat, the food was delicious, incl a fantastic lunch and a swim for those interested. Would thoroughly recommend this tour.
