One of our favourite places on the Mid North Coast. We prefer National Parks because the campgrounds are never overcrowded, the bush is left natural and the wildlife is all around you - probably because dogs are not allowed. The beach is the perfect distance for cycling from one end to the other, or simply to go for a stroll, a swim and enjoy all year round.

Beautiful, picturesque landscape. Great snorkelling, we saw dolphins and turtles. Recommend a wet suit as can get chilly in the deeper water. Safe, crystal clear and shallow swimming closer to shore. The gaol is definitely worth a visit. Many kangaroos around which are domesticated.

Pristine beaches and the old gaol ruins with a campground on site, various size sites, some with power and some without. Some overlooking the beach and others back a little bit and with shade trees. Facilities are basic but clean with toilets and showers. Book on line with NSW national Parks.

What a fantastic national park. The camp grounds are up there with the best premium parks, and the views !!!! The goal and lighthouse were great Family friendly attractions

Love this area as it offers walking tracks, birds & animals, beach for swimming/ enjoying, the rocks for climbing/ sitting on, great view of whales and beautiful, clean water.
It is tranquil with many different spots to stop that have plenty of parking, many tables/chairs (couple undercover) BBQ's & places for families to kick a ball.
There is the caravan park next to the Trial Bay Gaol, yet day visitors can use this road to park down along the waterfront. The Gaol is interesting and $11.00 entry fee per adult.
You have to be mindful of the kangaroos in this area, and there are signs to not feed them.
If you love photography, you will always get some fab shots here!
This area is my personal fav of SWR and can't capture the beauty, ruggedness, daily changes and peace this place brings to my ❤, in words.

Clean, well maintained park.
Camped below the Gaol- all amenities were the cleanest I have ever seen.
Watch the Kangaroos- they can be pushy wanting to get food. Keep your food out of reach (locked up or left in your car).
Such amazing history with the break wall, Gaol and walks.
Watched humpback whales playing as they migrated south.

Really interesting place to visit. Everyone should visit here and see what happens when governments can waste a lot of money. Interesting historical place.

We stayed at the Trial Bay Gaol Campgrounds.
Enjoyed the natural wonders of this amazing place.
Kangaroos are in mass around the grounds,so you need to be careful because there are plenty of kangaroo droppings.

I have been visiting this park for over 15 years now and it never fails to disappoint. Plenty of wildlife including kangaroos, fish and birds. Views are fantastic and there is also a public BBQ area along with a quiet little beach area. Definitely reccommend visiting here if you're visiting the South West Rocks / Arakoon area.

Absolutely stunning, clean toilet shower and kitchen, amazing bay view spot catches sunset, and for sunrise is only a minute walk to the other side. Lots of kangaroos, they are super cute. Coles and liquor land is a 10mins drive away. Friendly staff and campers, we met some really nice people here. Definitely recommend 💚💚

Loved the beautiful beaches and free roaming kangaroos, who seemed to take human presence in their stride, happily posing for photographs without interrupting their lunch. The history of Trial Bay and the attempted construction of a breakwater with convict labour makes for interesting reading, with the historic gaol on the hill overlooking the bay open for tours. The front beach is shallow and calm, and round the corner the waves crashing against the rocks make for great photo moments.

Beautiful national park an a lot of kangaroos around. The landscape is quite diverse with shady palm landscapes, open grassy areas, dry eucalyptus and much more. The lookout to Green island is one of my personal favourites

Stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from the walking tracks, which traverse various coastal vegetation types. Offers great birdwatching and whale watching opportunities. The granitic geology also adds to the natural interest.
