Gunning Showground

A stunning rest area equipped with all you need when you are on a long trip or just to take your family out...

What a beautiful and clean showground. Excellent free camping spot. So much space to park your van if travelling through. First time there yesterday but will be returning when travelling down to Melbourne next time. Has clean toilets and showers. The are a bit run down but clean. Has a skate park, tennis courts and playground area for the children. short walk to the main street. Will definitely go back again when we are travelling through to that area.

Had power, paid a donation at the service station. Lots of room, great new toilet block. Would stay there again. Very friendly town. Good fish and chips too.

Just mind blowing equipment for exercise. Suitable for all ages. Council did great job to invest that much money in this remote corner of the state.

There is a time limit to campers. Two days max. Over stayers will be monitored by locals and reported. Also please tether dogs.

We urge you all to clean up after yourself and leave dirty boots outside when using bathroom facilities please. Rinse area clean. Consider the cleaner.

Also facilities are NOT to be used for showering dogs. Full use is not a privilege so have consideration.

Enjoy your stay and please move on after two days otherwise a fee will be charged. Timestamp photos.

Exellent place people are friendly .
Gold coin donation pay at the first service station .
Toilets & showers available no power.
Would recommend to anyone going down south.

Plenty of space and modern clean amenities.
Good cheap meals at the pub.

The Gunning Showground offers up to 48 hours stop for RVs, Caravans and tents on a donation basis. The site is a generous size with ample grassy, mown pitches and has fresh water and clean toilets. The signage next to the entrance outlines the permitted camping area and notes that the showground is an overflow site for Barbour Park on Yass Street, less than 1km away on the North side of Gunning. Donations can be made at the service station.

Great stop while traveling between Wollongong/Sydney and the snowys. Quiet, with a great Park for kids, exercise equipment for adults, toilets and Park benches

Quiet, peaceful and not too many people mid week. Bit of noise from the highway but would only really noticed it in a tent. Might be able to score a bit of shelter if motorcycle camping. Maggie's are cheeky.

Great little town and camping is free, so spend some money in the town.

Plenty of level ground and shady spots to park. Heaps of space during the week. Great dump point and fresh water at entrance to town. Favourite spot to overnight at when travelling this way. Pity the fireworks in September are no longer an event.

Awesome.... But stay away from highway end .... Alot of road noise at night...... Can't complain but. AWESOME

Great place for a few days stopover! Plenty of space and choose your own site! Toilets are clean and showers are hot! Walk to town and spend your money at any of the local cafes or shops. Donation paid at garage, please do so this campsite continues

Great place for a stopover, good showers and toilets. No charge, the council ask that you support local businesses. Fuel was a good price. Great egg & bacon rolls at the Old Hume Cafe and the meat at the local butcher was excellent.

We really enjoyed a few nights here. Wide open space. And Gunning is a really nice country town with lovely country people. We will definitely be back
