The Royal Hotel, Adelong

Stayed at the back of the pub with our van. Awsome bar staff providing best service and knowledge of the area. Managers made our stay comfortable and we felt very welcome. To top it off we won the local Friday night meat tray. This is a pub stay worthwhile.

Beautiful imposing heritage building on a street corner. Had dinner there last night and the food was lovely and the servings large. Staff were super friendly.

Under verandah seating is old world charm.

Had a happy hour drink, staff and patrons very friendly. They also came to the rescue in the evening.
There was a thunder storm last night. I was in a motorhome at caravan park, madly packing up when this Collie ran into the motorhome curled up and wouldn’t get out. My small dog was terrified of the other dog. I couldn’t get any help from the owner, the vet, the ranger or the police. When thunder stopped managed to get dog out and take him on lead to see if he might lead to his home. After unsuccessful attempts the publican offered to take the dog in. Thank you for showing concern for me walking around in the dark, my terrified little dog left in the van and of course the beautiful collie.

We had an excellent meal at the pub. The Publican and staff are very friendly, provide excellent service and is good value. We had a wonderful night listening to live music.

What a delight, such a fantastic old country pub. The rooms and facilities are perfect for the price. The staff have been very friendly and accommodating. Georgia the cook even saved some lamb roast for us. Congratulations to the new management.

We had a lovely lunch of Silverside nice portions, enjoyed the music and a friendly publican with nice atmosphere.

Popped into the Royal for a drink and dinner because we were staying in town for the night. New owners had just taken over and made us feel so welcome! They served the most delicious local wine and a great schnitzel. They have some great plans for the hotel. Can only wish them well and hope we can return.

my husband and i went last night to the hotel and we had the bestttttttttt expirence ever! the new owners Cec and Al are such nice people. They werent doing food but they made us fish and chips anyhow:) And cec sang us 1 of her songs Bring me home, while we were waiting for our meal:)) She has a great voice and that was the best night of our lives..Thank you so much cec.. With you and your husbands gentle natures and kindness you will make the hotel a success!!!!!!! The pub and owners are very professional. To sit in the beer garden the views are to live for!!!

Fantastic country pub food - stopped here for dinner after visiting Adelong Falls, ordered the lamb shanks and it was a lovely plate of food. The meat was falling off the bone, the red wine jus had just the right consistency and depth of flavour, the mash was smooth and the green beans were still beautifully green. Would definitely eat here again, it's a better option than some of the more popular options in Tumut.

Great little pub.
Loved sitting outside watching the world go by. Took a deck of cards and sat outside having drinks and taking in the ambience.
Staff were super friendly and keen for a chat.
Food was awesome and hard to finish.
Highly recommend a night at the Royal. We will be back.

Went there for dinner Friday night and the food is amazing. Had T-bone with salad and chips and the other meal crumbed lamb cutlets..
It was so nice to have old feel pub food and cold beer on tap...keep up the good work guys.. I will be back..

An awesome pub with the best food in town. Clean and well maintained with great staff, it is an absolute credit to the proprietor Luke Hindmarsh who has really made the place something special and somewhere you'd be proud to take family, friends and acquaintances to. It is very kid friendly and just a pleasure to go there.

A frequent visitor here, VERY cold beers, cannot fault food nor service, friendly staff n patrons, no hassle sitting out front with our dog, it’s what I expect from a great country pub, long way from the “gong “
