Outback Camping & Trailers

We arrived in Alice with spare time and were able to hire a camper from Ray. Very friendly, excellent service. A well set up, soft floor camper with everything necessary for camping; except bedding to be provided by us (sheets/blankets/pillows). Power and lights via a 12V battery and solar cells. Large esky that held ice for more than 2 days. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils. The camper was an easy and rapid set up. Weather was perfect so we didn't get to use the annexe. The camper was perfect for our needs, towed easily with a Treg hitch to handle the roughest tracks through the East & West MacDonnells. Thought it was very good value for money and couldn't fault the service, we highly recommend the business.

The customer service I received from Ray was outstanding. He absolutely bent over backwards for me to help me with a challenging situation involving a very old caravan that used non-standard parts. He patiently liaised back and forth with me, always seeking solutions that would work in my context. He was knowledgeable, professional, informative, and polite. He worked hard, and would not rest until he had exhausted every avenue. I'm very happy with the end result and cannot recommend him enough. Thanks, Ray, you were awesome!

Just out of the East and West Macs after enjoying camping with one of Ray’s soft floor deluxe campers.
Firstly, Ray responded patiently to every one of our emails from 4 months ago when we first booked including camping site tips and local supplies like the local Milner Butcher.
Next we could not fault the gear. The off road camper was stocked with near new equipment, everything you could ever need for a short trip or longer trip in the outback. We hired a few extras like compressor, first aid kit, Engel fridge and recovery kit. All good gear.
Ray even threw in at the last minute a new sleeping bag we unzipped to make an extra doona as there was a cold snap for a few days. That’s going above and beyond to ensure the customer has a great time.
The Outback Camper was quick and easy to set up and pull down and the trailer suited the conditions well. Ray and Kathy have been a pleasure to deal with and it’s fantastic to experience old fashion service with a smile.
We hope to be back each year to enjoy the area and the service.

My family and I are travelling from south west Victoria to Darwin. We developed a problem with a wheel bearing out of Alice Springs. The Caravan park we stayed at recommended Outback Camping & Trailers and I would have to say, from initial call to completed repairs, Ray and his team provided nothing but the best service at a fair price. Ray was knowledgeable and very helpful. He gave the van a wheel alinement plus a full check and service of the running gear. After towing it out of Alice I could tell straight away that he knows his stuff. The van towed like new.

100%. Could not be any happier with service given our desperate situation. Caravan breakdown on highway. Ray answered our call even being a public holiday in Alice Springs. Need tow RACV roadside service prompt as could be, good service there as well. Outback camping started work early next day located issue being wheel bearings. Issue explained clearly to us novices. Job completed that day. Big thanks to Ray and offsiders. We are again on our way. Could not recommend him more. Huge thanks.

We had bearing failure on our caravan causing some major damage. Ray and his team had all parts on hand and repaired the next day. Very knowledgeable,very professional, highly recommended

My wife and I broke a trailer spring in Alice Springs ,go figure. After a few phone calls Outback Trailer Rentals was recomended and we met Ray. Ray told us that he was very busy but if we could be here first thing in the morning he would see what he could do. In no time at all a new spring was fitted and our holiday could continue. Rays service was second to none and his price was very reasonable.

I had the pleasure of dealing with both the owner and his wife. Both great people. I also saw other customers come in while I was there, and he was extremely helpful to everyone. He knew his stuff back to front, and if so, if you need some minor trailer repairs, give them a call.

Ray at Outback Camping and Trailers is a legend. We had a bearing failure losing the wheel and wrecking the axle on our camper trailer, just north of Coober Pedy. I called Ray at about 9am, by 6:30pm that day he had a new axle assembly including brakes, suspension and handbrake assembly + wiring on a pallet from Adelaide to Coober Pedy. Not only that but we also met on the road as he was heading south so he could check over the fitting of the new kit. Above and beyond. 5 star service. Highly recommended.

Amazing ! Ray who was in Adelaide at the time when I had an issue with my caravan organised somone to meet me at his workshop outside normal buisness hours to repair my caravan tgat had a broken door . The people who work for him are so professional as is he . Reasonably priced and as a traveler from Melbourne o left there thinking why can’t people at home be that helpful .
The workmanship was perfect , and I own a small caravan buisness and will send anyone there .
As I said to ray , when your travelling and you need help , for some businesses it’s easy to just say sorry to hard , but this guy went completely out of his way to make sure we had a safe holiday .

Very good customer service, helped when I was really in need, called them on a Saturday, wasn't open, but said he'd open for me, got there in 10 minutes he was waiting, paid $65 for a high wall trailer so I could move house, and I had told him I was moving house, he said just bring it back on Monday!!! I was sooooo happy, it gave me alot more time to move and was way cheaper than other places by far, all and all BEST BY FAR , thank you again from a happy customer

A great company to hire from, friendly and so easy to deal with with great products on offer to hire. Our camper was spotless and in great condition highly recommend!
