Well, the fish van is at the waterfront at the harbour in Triabunna. Very busy little establishment but staff were cheerful and the wait wasn’t too long. The deep fried battered blue grenadier was yummy - came in very interesting packaging. I also got a fish stick - others in our group got potato scallops. Everybody enjoyed.

We had oysters here. Fresh and yummy!
My hubby had the hamburger with ‘the lot’! It was huge!
Cheap an cheerful! And staff was friendly and accommodating!
It was a good place to have food before going to Maria Island and after!
We had the seafood basket for dinner and all the seafood was cooked just right.

The best fish and chips I've ever had! My daughter and I visited last Sunday, and we both loved it. Nice friendly staff and really delicious fish! Try the flake, you will love it!

Very nice fish and chips and seafood place!
One of my fav places to go in Tasmania.
Price is affordable and all served in good portions too.
The location is nice. It can be busy before or after the ferry schedule.
Very recommended.

Wonderful lunch stop after the ride from Hobart - nice roads, stunning scenery and now fresh fish and chips.
The fish really is fresh and comes hot off the grill - or any way you want it! Staff are friendly, service is quick, an d there are plenty of places to sit in the sun, take in the scenery and enjoy your food.
Heaps of parking, although it can get VERY busy at peak periods in the summer.

Ah the humble burger - usually such a good looking idea, but take one bite and it's a disaster. By the end of it, you've got dropped bits, some stuck to your chin and sauce dripping through your fingers down to your elbows. NOT SO with a terrific fish burger from the Fish Van! A careful construction of crumbed fish, cheese, crispy fresh lettuce, tomato and the right ratio of tartare sauce is just the ticket. No dropsies, no mess, delicious and tidy to the end, much to the dismay of the stalker seagulls. Terrific spot, eat there or find plenty of seating options in either direction. I went right and ate beside the wetland inlet. The seagulls were too lazy to follow me that far. No wonder the Fish Van just made the top 5 best fish and chips in Tassie! Small chips at $6 is more than enough, to boot.

Fantastic food. We had steak sandwich with the lot. So good we went back again next day. Fish Burger had 2 pieces of fish & salad. Lovely staff behind counter, seating area overlooking the harbour. Very very impressed.

Had the fish, chips, potato cake, squid rings and pineapple fritter. Fish was super fresh and everything was great except for potato cakes. Ice cream next door was really good too. Very reasonable prices for everything.

It’s not the best fish and chips I’ve had but it’s great value! It’s worth to try! I ordered blue grenadier and chips. I like soft fish so it was really nice and batter was crispy. I also had a potato cake and a crab stick. The potato cake was good for dessert but the crab stick doesn’t have any taste. Just crab stick (not real crab). I saw the flathead and chips only $13!! It’s very cheap. In East coast, flathead and chips usually cost more than $18.

Highly recommend! Even though the signs said otherwise, my food was ready in 5 minutes max. For AUD16.50 you get a decent amount of chips and fish. Chips could have stayed a bit longer in the fryer, but anyways! Free sauces! If you are about to get to Maria Island or returning, stop there if you are hungry!

This is a midway lunch for our journey to Tasman National Park.
The best in the menu is the fish and chip, very fresh fish.
Worth for the money and of course a good stop over rest and relax area.

We ordered the burger, seafood basket with chips and a steam fish. Food tasted amazing and no need to pay extra on sauce. Highly recommended if you are on your way to Maria island.

Our meal was great and the portions were substantial.

Fish was well cooked and not greasy.

If there was a complaint to be made it would be why does family pack 1 only have 3 fish but 4 of everything else? We just got the extra piece of fish to make it got 4.

Not a long wait for us even though the signs said they were short staffed.

Could do with more seating snd umbrellas.

Came off the ferry today and checked out this fish and chips place which is right next to the pier.

Had the most amazing crayfish here. Fresh, full of flavour from the sea and not expensive at all.

Very very busy place with almost non stop orders while we were there.

Wish I could take another crayfish home...

If you are looking for the "best" fish or squid in the whole of the East Coast, this is it. Fresh, straight off the hook..not greasy, massive portions, cooked to perfection and yet, unbelievably low prices! Highly recommended!

Fresh super yum oysters (they tend to sellout quick so get there early), and fresh seafood basket. Squid rings one of the best I've tried, and fried scallops are juicy and a hint of fresh sweetness. Such good value for money as well. Great unassuming place and perfect for a post maria island ferry stop!

Located near the ferry terminal to Maria island, grilled fish was OK, seafood basket (wrapped in a bouquet) was good! Reasonably price and super value for money. Not surprisingly, it's frequented by many locals.
