Nexus Consulting Services- Dr Susette Sowden

20 years ago I had a complete breakdown totally gone, Susette has not only pulled me back from insanity but also she has helped me to finally grasp the horrors of my abusive childhood. It was done with Constant Compassion and empathy in her extremely professional and softly softly approach, she is never judgemental or Uncaring, in twenty years I’ve come to know her as an extremely honest, caring and kind person with an incredible gift for help people of all ages to connect again.
There is only one person I would send my children to or take anyone I cared about too and that’s this incredibly generous and knowledgeable woman…..

Dr Sowden is very respected by health professionals within our region and beyond. I first heard of her when someone else in her industry quietly dropped her name, saying that she has been an excellent support for her personally as a patient. My GP happily referred me, also singing Dr Sowden's praises as she said she has had other patients who have seen her with great results. I felt confident to have made the correct choice as I had very complex issues to deal with at the time. Dr Sowden worked with my other health professionals to ensure everyone was on the same page regarding information, to ensure correct diagnosis and my treatment. I had experienced some significant trauma which had led me to a complete breakdown, I had severe PTSD- complex, severe anxiety and was secretly suicidal at one point, without admitting to anyone that I was. There were a few other challenges as well. Dr Sowden took it upon herself to organise external supports, called my other treating DR's, called the hospital and gently but firmly encouraged me into more extensive psychiatric treatment. I know I would not have made it this far without her gentle but firm care and support. I have learned so much. The knowledge and different perspective on various things that I have gained has truly changed my life, if only I had known, what I do now, decades ago. Aside from other techniques,the talk therapy alone makes Dr S worth her weight in gold. I've not found a psychologist anywhere near as experienced in so many different areas. My GP and Psychiatrist wrote asking her to assess me for ASD along the way and I was told it may take some time as it's important to ensure diagnosis are correct and that I have overlap for various other things going on, but mentioned that she could see certain traits that my psychiatrist & GP had expressed but it was more important that we deal with more pressing things Re my mental health. Thankfully. The assessment was eventually done down the track, very detailed and took some time but was completed successfully. My gratitude cannot be expressed enough for the care I have been given. Dr Sowden has a beautiful personality and is easy to be open with on every topic imaginable. It's also really nice when you're heading into an appointment and another patient passes you on their way out and says 'isn't she wonderful' and you both smile knowing you're very lucky. If you ever see this Susette, know that you're amazing and have done wonderful things. I'm truly grateful for your hard work and care. Thank you.
Please write a book, or few when you retire so we don’t have to miss your valuable teachings too much.

Dr. Sowden is a very empathic, understanding, and knowledgeable Psychologist whom I highly recommend.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD!
For someone that was suppose help, all she did was create problems.

My first dealing with her was when she told me my ex did not mean the family violence he inflicted on me & that I should go meet up and have a coffee with him to talk it out. She sided with an abuser, had us in the same room & made me tell him what he had done to me. I was absolutely horrified at what she did and couldn’t even say much as I was too scared so she deemed the family violence insignificant and not meant, also allowed cultural differences to be an excuse for the family violence.

Then children attended her with myself and also separately with their father. She did not help the children, she helped the father. She would not listen to the kids fears and concerns. She secretly worked with the father diagnosing medical conditions that were not even relevant. My children were worse off seeing her and so was I.

She is a very fidgety lady, is not calming at all, disorganised and all over the place. She yells at her reception staff in front of waiting patients, gets frustrated and angry.

A very horrible experience. Finally working everything out and ending her services was the best thing I did for my kids!

You can have all the qualifications in the world on paper, but people skills and caring matter more and are non existent here. She needs to retire!

Absolutely appalling. Was referred for an adult ASD assessment, and within 15 minutes of meeting was told I was not autistic, and within the first appointment had received a preliminary diagnosis of a personality disorder I do not meet the criteria for. Lo and behold, after being clinically assessed elsewhere, it transpires that I am indeed autistic.

Susette should not be offering these services when she clearly has no idea what she is doing. At best negligent, at worst, downright dangerous.

Bad. Went here a few years ago, and she had downplayed my trauma as if it was just a simple mistake, and invalidated my feelings that I had about my abusive mum, saying that she had a right to be upset just because I didn't like her. Would not recommend.

Please please do not take your children to this woman. Cable of serious damage.
