Cranbrook pink lakes

Very attractive place, love the view so much. We were there today, January 7.
No tourists were there.

We stopped here on our way to Albany. It is a small beautiful pink lake.

We were lucky to see such a pink pink lake, I’ve been here before and it wasn’t so pink.

Cranbrook can use (market) this lake to enhance tourism and business for the locals.

Small but lovely lake :)

These pink lakes at Cranbrook are conveniently located a short detour of Albany Highway when travelling to Albany. Whilst dwarfing in size compared to the pink lake in Esperance, the first lake on the right when heading south is conveniently located with a access road just prior. When we visited in summer a thick salt crust had formed, which muted the pink colour but allowed the whole lake to be walked on which was a good experience. When you remove the salt crust you can see the bright pink underneath.

Slightly pink salt, not the most amazing thing ever, but cool if you're in the area.

It's not a proper tourist location, just a quick stop on the side of the road.

Not too far from Perth and well worth the detour off Albany Hwy to visit the towns along the Great Southern Hwy and see the Pink Lake which sits beside the highway ~10mins outside of Cranbrook.

Colourful group of lakes that have varied hues of vivid pinks & blues in season when the algae blooms i guess. Perfect at sunset to capture magic photos , only problem is that there is no where to park next to these road side lakes so people are taking risks pulling up along the busy road.

Had to stop on the way past as I've done this drive so many times I can tell ya what corners zoning up ahead after a snooze haha 😆

I love this 'little' salt pan. I say little as it is dwarfed by the enormous siblings close by like Racecourse Lake.
This particular one is called Gairdner Lake and can resemble a huge fried egg!

I suppose you have to come at the right season. The lake was indeed pink
