Amazing house and location

Amazing place to stay, lovely grounds, large house and toys for kids BUT we would not stay again.

There is no attention paid to sleep quality. The beds are not comfy, nearly all of us complained in the mornings. Two of the rooms had damp issues and the sheets smelled damp and had to be washed. In the middle of the night the cold water tank in the roof above the kids room started filling up - very loudly and for a long time! And scared my son, and me a bit until I figured out what was happening (I thought there was a leak! Sound of running water hitting a pool of water). The pillows are cheap too.

All these things can be fixed (perhaps a timer to stop the water tanks filling up at night?). Spend some cash on decent mattresses and pillows. You come to a place like this to rejuvenate but if you can’t sleep well, then you won’t and we didn’t.

Apart from that, the house is great. Lots of space for kids to run around. Log fire was lovely and the kitchen is well equipped.

Beautiful place with gorgeous scenery. Very comfortable beds. Well kept and perfect for all seasons.

Such a lovely house and the grounds are spectacular

Great location. Calling it a vineyard is an exaggeration- a collection of scruffy old vines full of rabbits and Kangaroos.
Beds are atrocious!
NOT ONE comfortable seat/chair in the whole place.
Could be so much better with a little attention to furnishings.

The house and location is great, close to Caves House, wineries and Yallingup attractions.
However, we had a few issues with the management by Exclusive Escapes.
The wifi was down and we had to call the management to get it working.
There were no basics in the "chefs kitchen" as it was advertised. There was not salt, oil, glad wrap, or paper towel. We called management and were told that we had to bring our own, even though the ad said it is a chefs kitchen and there as no mention of these basics being BYO or what was or was not provided. Essentially Exclusive Escapes want you to guess what might be at the property and bring it yourself. This is not only misleading and deceptive, but also unreasonable and impractical. Especially for a $1000 a night property. Even worse, there is a $1500 bond for cleaning. We were emailed a checklist for check out which included having to wipe down the kitchen and make sure it is clean. This is pretty hard when there is no 'spray and wipe' provided. Another thing that you are expected to bring yourself. I've engaged in a some back and forth with Exclusive Escapes about how unreasonable this all is, and my questions have been ignored and instead I've been offered "free linen" next time I book with them (which I wont). It's pretty embarrassing to offer free linen when the linen we were provided had pubic hair all over it.
We also saw that the wood for the fire was low so we called to tell the management and they brought down some more, then later on we were told there was enough and we didnt look in the right place - well we did and four blokes all thought the wood provided wasnt enough and wouldnt last. It wouldnt have but we went out one night and didnt use the fire.
The place also had some cleaning issues - black mould in the bathrooms (I suspect because they don't replace the batteries in the remotes that control the exhaust fans, so you can't turn them on), dead bugs in the bathrooms and footprints in the hallways. It really is a nice location but really poorly run by a management company more interested in defending the indefensible rather than sorting out the real problem and actually checking and maintaining the property. If I was the owner of the property I'd look for another manager.
