Hyde Park Medical Clinic

I have been attending the Hyde Park medical clinic for over 40 years. The reception staff are friendly and very helpful.
Over time I have seen many of the doctors here and have found them extremely professional.
They have a wide range of doctors specialising in different areas , such as woman’s health, mental health, Physio etc.
I would highly recommend a visit.

busy on a Saturday morning but receptionist went to a lot of trouble to organise a Dr to fit into my schedule and ensure we caught up with Pathology . Rate her and the other staff thru the roof.

i have been using this clinic for many years and have always been very satisfied inall respects.

I don’t mind if doctors run late. It means that they are taking the time patients need to help them. However, I have rang on occasions to check how late the doctor is running and specifically telling reception that I am only 5 minutes drive away. Almost every single time I would be told there’s only one or two patients in front of me so I should come now / in 15 minutes and every time I’ve had to wait for 30 plus minutes. Absolutely infuriating

Dr. Redding was fantastic but he’s now retired. Avoid Dr. Hill. She has no bedside manner and is more concerned about her back pocket than her patients. Lectures rather than talks to you and if you’re just in for another prescription, good luck getting what you actually need. She always “knows better” than previous doctors. Hopeless.

$93 for a 5min phone consult is hard to justify. I know businesses need to be profitable, but this seems exorbitant. Especially being a health care practise where this will disincentivise people from having their health concerns seen too.

Always late and very pricey. I like the idea of making an appointment and being seen at that time, but they are never even close to on time. Currently 45mins into a wait for a vaccination. Next time I'll go to a bulk billed walk in clinic.

Some of the doctors are very good, but not all.

Way too expensive. Tried to book in for child vaccination and was told $180 for a new patient appointment with $100 back from Medicare, so an $80 gap. Go elsewhere

I was booked in to get a Yellow Fever vaccine prior to my travels for myself and my 15 month old. Specific instructions were given to reception staff that the intention of the appointment was to get the Yellow Fever vaccine and I also asked them to check if they had it in stock to which they said they did.
Upon rocking up to the appointment and waiting 45 minutes, we were then told that the GP we were booked into were not accredited to give the vaccine. I'm a doctor myself and cancelled and re-booked my own patients to facilitate this appointment. I would never run a practice this way. Highly recommedn you avoid this practice as staff have no clue what they are doing.
Many other excellent practices near by such as Malvern Medical Centre and for travel vaccines I would suggest the Travel Doctors in the city. I chose this as the location was close by to allow me to get back to my own patients in time but will not make this error again in the future.

Practice Details on Website Vs what they offer vary significantly. Highly recommend that you call before you come here if you want to avoid any rude surprises.

P.S. Not frontline staff fault as they are only doing their job.

I've been here four or five times in as many years, only out of desperation. I've been misdiagnosed two of those times. A walk in clinic would be better. Pricey too, relying on older, dependent wealthy locals.

Never have I been more humiliated.
If you are thinking of going there to a dr don’t.

Poor communication skills and lack of attention from the doctors, ended up having to go elsewhere.
