Malleefowl Campground

Too much sun, privacy and relaxation. Can’t believe I needed to bring my own water and insect repellant when camping in Australia’s vast bush.

Lovely camp grounds! Lots of ant nests but if left undisturbed they cause no harm. Quiet and camp sites are protected for the wind, very close to the beach. We will definitely return.

need pest control!!! site1 is small but cute. but not flat under the trees.

Pros - very private and protected from strong winds. We stayed at camp-site 5 and it was quite big. Lots of birds chirping in the mornings. Close to the lagoon.

Cons - struggled with bees, ants and other flying insects for a while. Long drop toilet is almost a kilometre away. Found tiny worms in the tap water (from the rain water tank) which really threw us off. Access to basic facilities is far away. The campground is quite eerie and isolated at night time.

Overall, it's not too bad as long as you go prepared with enough basic resources and lots of insect repellent :D

No facilities, nearest water facilities was at meningie. Water very salty

Decided not to stay the night - LOTS of mozzies and not a lot else.

Stayed in Loop road Malleefowl site 3 and got inundated with large ants as it got dark. Checked other sites and they all had them. There were thousands of them and they got into and on everything. We had to leave 4 days early and find somewhere else to camp. Not suitable for people to stay there

Ant hills everywhere, decided not to stay the night.
