I had the most amazing night at the candlelit concert. The atmosphere was amazing and the musicians were absolutely awesome. I would definitely recommend it to everyone

I have come here to chew bubblegum and review The Astor Theatre. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

This is a great place for movie lovers and easily one of the best things to do in Melbourne.

You and your friends will be saying let's all go to the lobby to get ourselves a treat. I personally recommend the choc tops.

Classic films in classic surroundings. It doesn't get better. Heratage listed with regular special events. So exciting to smell the hot popcorn as I wait to be let in for the next session.

I love this old cinema. I don't love the upstairs seats for some of the modern 2+ hour movies but downstairs is great and extra fun on Italian and French film festival nights.

Great atmosphere, reasonably priced and wonderfully diverse selection of old movies showing all year round. Convenient to tram and train. Love it here!

Came here for the first time to see a special screening of John Waters’ cult classic Polyester. What a stunningly beautiful theatre! Genuinely worth visiting just to see the architecture and historical design elements alone, but I got the impression from just the one visit that this theatre has developed an amazing friendly and inclusive community around it.

The best place to watch rare movies on the big screen. One of the last remaining places in Melbourne that still has an active film projector and has access to a vast library of great films on 35mm and 70mm.

The smell emanating from the old faux leather seats is so nostalgic and goes so well with an old movie.

Went to watch Trevor Wallace perform at his first show overseas in Melbourne. Had an absolute blast and I loved the theatre. Aesthetic was brilliant and it was strangely cozy.

Theater for movie lovers by movie lovers. I feel plenty of respect to cinema from them. Always surprise me with their lovely displays before movie. They have amazing taste of choosing movies as well. The greatest thing is they don't turn on the light during ending credit while I am still drawn into movies. Appreciate their existence.

Great theatre, classic styled theatre. From the bars and restaurant to the theatre it self it is a great experience. We watched Stars Wars: Return of the Jedi, the opening ads/old movies and classic clips was really cool to watch before the movie started. The seats are not bad.

Very nice staff. Very old fashioned feel too the atmosphere.
Great place to see a film rather than a movie. Know what I mean?

Gorgeous theatre in a beautiful art deco building. Seats are comfortable and have plenty of leg room. Would recommend seating on the second floor.

Just love this grand old cinema. Great programming and staff that care about the cinema experience. The yearly Halloween all-night marathons are a highlight of my year.

This is a really nice spot to come and watch a movie and it is very reasonably priced.

The ambience, architecture, and friendly service/staff work well together to create an experience which you probably wouldnt get at your usualy Village or Hoyts.

Gorgeous historic cinema with some of the best film programming in the world. Great place to catch a double bill of classics, with a choc top at intermission of course!
