What a place, please, everyone, you have to support this place as it will close down if we don't. So many interesting things to see, I didn't put half my photos on as I had to leave something as a surprise when you go there. If you have a tiny waistline, you can hire the outfits for $5.00 that they used to were in that era. There is tea and coffee and biscuits for sale and reasonable priced souvenirs for sale.

If you like my ratings, please follow me.

Another one of them places we have driven past for years, and decided we might have a look,

We were not left disappointed, place is busting at the seams with old time memorabilia, if you like spending hours walking through places looking at they history of the area, old cars, trucks, etc, this place is a must.

Churches, barns, houses, dentist, doctors, bakery, mechanics, fire station, police station, cemetery,
Trains are just a few out of 100+ shops/houses etc from yesteryear

Well worth the stop, alow 2-4 hours,

A great day out at Old Tailem Town today. So much history & can't begin to imagine how many years it has taken the owners to build/create and collect so many pieces from the past for everyone to enjoy. Worth the trip to see and support this great SA business. Added just a few photos to help people see how amazing this place is !!!

Unique, that’s the fitting word. Absolutely interesting to see all the tools and the lifestyle decades ago !

Could also imagine visiting this place for the nighttour, it‘s definitely haunting

This is an amazing place to to take a step back in time. So much history and much to meander around and see.
Well worth the entrance fee and a real credit to the old timer caretakers.

Take the time to stop and call in, there's such an amazing collection of Australian history there. We spent 5 hours strolling around, don't forget to bring your lunch! I loved the old dance hall and the hotel, the buildings are original and have been moved to the village for your enjoyment. The railway signals and fire engine collection are incredible, not to mention the wooden speedboat collection, the facinating engines, an old Glenelg tram and the iconic Balfours pie cart!!

Great place to walk and around and check out history and how life once was.

Great selection of old buildings, vehicles, machinery and much much more. Well over 100 buildings with a lot accessible. Easily spent 3 hours soaking it all in, owner is lovely and loves a good chat.

Amazing Pioneer Town with streets and buildings furnished appropriately to the era. Period music plays as you wander round which adds to the atmosphere. Buildings and contents sourced from all over Australia and brought together to create this experience by the owner Peter Squires who graciously and proudly gave us a short tour as the attraction was about to close when we arrived. Well worth a visit and could easily spend couple of hours exploring.

We had a great visit to Old Tailem Town. There is an abundance of early settler infrastructure and equipment to explore. We were grateful to have the dogs welcome.

While driving towards Adelaide saw in passing expected it to be old vehicle collection. On our return once again saw it pass by but decided to turn back and it was the right decision.

It's amazing recreation of an old town by brining in different old structures from various parts of the country. The recreation was not only structures but also the interiors to create realtime experience of those years. The collection was not limited to structures but the crockery, artifacts, furniture, appliances, vehicles, teams, train coaches and so on including a cemetery. Noel, caretaker and creator of the town was very enthusiastic, he provided information, and history and what one should not miss while walking around.

Overall an unforgettable experience and time we'll spent. Thanks to Noel & Peter.

My toddler and I loved it here and spent a good 3 hrs soaking it all in. My son was particularly interested in the old vehicles. We stopped in the old hall for a snack break too. I'm keen to go back next time I'm up that way.

The amount of work it must have cost to put this together is astonishing. So many buildings and all decorated. They use dolls for display to get more feel for it. It works but they did freak me out all the time haha. To many horror movies I guess. Great great collection of old stuff. Learned a lot, cool to see. Worth a visit

If you're interested in history and specifically pioneer Australia, this is a fascinating timetravel experience. It was so cool to see everything in place as it would have functioned, as well as having time period products, furniture, clothing verhicles and buildings.

It is mainly outside (with houses you can walk through and businesses you can go into the entrance to look at the displays), Me and my friends went on a really hot day so just be prepared that you'll be in the sun a bit. I can't imagine how people wore suits and dresses back in the day (so glad to be born in the 21st century!).

We did the self guided tour and the employees gives you a detailed map of each building and attraction around the town. Every building has a plaque of information that explains what the buildings were used for (and even where the original building was relocated from!). We went through pretty quickly and managed to finish around 2 hours but would recommend spending 3 or more hours going at a leisurely pace and taking everything in.

The only small downside for me was that there were a few beehives around and I had to avoid those areas (like maybe 4 or 5 at the time) but understandably that can't be helped as it's in nature! Still didn't distract from the cool experience!

I visited here with my 2 children ages 7 and 8.

I remember my grandparents telling me stories about how it used to be and walking around the village triggered all these wonderful memories. It was great being able to share these stories with the kids and explain how different life was.

I still consider myself young and was surprised at how many items I remember from my childhood days. Maybe I am not as young as I think HAHA :).

The kids and I had so much fun exploring, sharing stories and chatting about the past. One game we played which was fun was what items can see find that have improved since the old days (such as scales are now digital, we use computers no type writers and so forth). This really got the kids thinking on what they can improve in this world.

There are mannequins in some of the shops in the village which freaked me and the kids out, especially at the undertaker (I hope they were mannequins).

I recommend brining your own drinks & snacks (or even lunch) and taking your time to explore the village and remembering the good old days.

Visited recently with the family. It really is excellent. So much to see and buildings to go into, along with old vehicles to look at including trains and a tram.

Easy to get to just off the freeway.

Highly recommend!
