Zafeera's Fine Malaysian

My family had a wonderful dinner here. The food is nice especially butter chicken and juicy chicken 65 like tandoori chicken. We ordered curry puff but it’s out of stock and the boss complimentary us with something else. Thanks for the service and yummy food !

Authentic and delicious Indian-Malaysian cuisine. Customer service was exceptional from the wonderful and kind man, Gagan - he went out of his way to make us comfortable. So so sweet. We had the nicest night.

Had the banana leaf rice set, absolutely tasty and rich on flavours.
Coming from Malaysia, I can relate to the taste and I must say the quality beats most restaurants in Malaysia.

Passed by this beautiful cozy Malaysian restaurant as my husband is a fan of its cuisine. Hands down to freshly done rotis and chicken curry. Can't skip the Malaysian tea which was so similar to Sri Lankan tea. The atmosphere is so calming and peaceful.

My partner and I dined on 22 March 22. We were the first to the restaurant and able to choose where we wanted to sit. Anwar, the owner came by and said my name, confirming it was us. Anwar's wife brought over our cutlery, plates and water.
After reading so many wonderful reviews, we ordered the chicken 65, prawn pakora, lamb spinach, fennel chicken, roti and coconut rice. We wanted to order more but Anwar said that would be ample. He was right. Everything was absolutely amazing and delicious and we were so full. A local couple came in not long after us and said they eat there often as it's so good and just around the corner from home. We can see why. There were another few tables plus a few take away orders throughout the hour and a half we were there. Service was friendly and prompt. Such a nice find as we're from the other side of the city. The restaurant is also BYO wine. We will definitely return soon.

Cute, family run Malaysian Indian restaurant. The prawn pakora to begin were delish. Mains was nasi lemak and the butter chicken and all dishes hit the spot.

The new location is amazing. The family run business that is totally a comfort food. Roti ,Murtabaq and the the fennel chicken is absolutely amazing. The hosts are warm and welcoming.love going back everytime.

The family that runs this place has captured the essence of their Malaysian Indian (Malaysian Tamil to be precise) heritage in their carefully curated menu. Wholesome people; wholesome food.
The prawn pakora is a delightful appetizer and it puts prawn cutlets in every fish and chipper to shame. The mint chutney it is served with pairs beautifully.
The fennel chicken is an original recipe found nowhere else. The curry with burnt fennel seeds is very aromatic and is music on the palette. With flaky-fluffy roti chanai, it is a match made in heaven.
The mee goreng is every thing I wanted it to be - stir fried noodles, generous portion, flavour town.
The off the menu special, Chicken Biriyani deserves special mention. The southern Tamil style Biriyani takes me back to home.
Mango Kulfi served with mango pulp is an amazing light dessert after the meal.

Ordered:
1 x Ayam Rendang
1 x Mee Goreng Mamak
3 x Roti Chanai
1 x Mango Lassi

Experience:
First off, the Ayam rendang had nice and tender chicken with buckets of flavour - something you expect to find in a rendang of any kind. It was enjoyed with some roti (the more the merrier in my humble opinion).

The Mee Goreng Mamak had deep flavour and a beautiful wok hay. Smokey, peppery and umami.

Mango lassi was thin in consistency, nonetheless a treat to wash down. It's excellent yoghurt twang helped complete the flavour bust in my mouth.

Overall, I enjoyed this place and will hopefully order from here soon.

Tasty food and friendly service from a family run restaurant. They are rated as one of the top Indian restaurants in Time Out Melbourne. I like their curries as they are rich and creamy, and their Briyani is very fragrant, and the teh tarik is very authentic! Overall, they serve high quality food with a reasonable price tag.

It’s honestly, the place I will always want to go. The food is always fresh and delicious. A small family owned place, where I always felt so welcome.

The Lamb Haneef & the beef marzoq , are to die for. I’m still looking to a recipe to could make at home.

This is one of the restaurants where you, (as my partner and I did) can create beautiful memories.

Delicious food and friendly service. We got the fennel chicken, butter chicken, chicken 65, mee goreng, lamb qorma, prawn gulai, beef rendang and murtabak. The mee goreng was a tad salty but everything else was great. Had to order extra rice because the curry was too good to waste.

Wow such amazing food ! A beautiful family owned restaurant. So happy with all the food we chose, including the butter chicken, mi goreng, some roti, coconut rice and a side of curry sauce. So yummm ! Great service and chats with Emil as well, will definitely be back and yes definitely recommend :))

Zafeera’s is one the best restaurant for Malaysian Indian cuisine.Food is so delicious, definitely recommend Fennel chicken curry. Staff is also very friendly. Definitely going to visit again 👍👍.

Wife had the veg Mee goreng and I got the Nasi Lemak with beef rendang on the side. Both great meals.

I loved the taste of the Mee Goreng. The beef rendang was lighter than I’ve had before - probably due to coconut but tasty nonetheless.

Having dinner at Zafeera feels like home🤗 since I was young, I already falling in love with Malaysian Indian cuisine. The dishes and flavours here really brings back lots of good memories.

I often order are Chicken 65, Mee goreng mamak (my favourite), Nasi goreng kampung (so good), Fish curry, Chicken briyani and teh tarik.. yum!!

The people who run the business are absolute beautiful, treating customers like family. I wish I have taken more photos. Recommended, will come back again :)
