Freddy’s Fish and Chips

One of the few restaurants that opens late till 9pm. When we got there at around 8pm, we were the only customers there.

We had a Freddy Cheesy burger and the Fish of the day plus chips. Both were delicious! The burger patty was tender with generous slices of cheese and a secret yummy sauce. The Gummy fish of the day was fresh and crisp. It's fried upon order so you get it piping hot.

Sauce for the chips actually comes as a separate item, but they offered it to us for free when we wanted to pay for it.

The boss and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommended if you're in the area!

Good value freshly fried, hot crispy battered fish and chunky chips served with a lemon wedge and came in a clean takeout box with paper bag (not heavy with oil). My piece of fish had no bones but the other 2 pieces had 1-3 bones inside, hence the 4 stars. Service was quick and the place was clean. Definitely a favourite on our list for a easy and tasty meal.

First experience, walked in and watched effective staff, welcoming staff. Ordered an old school burger (the lot) I’d been craving.
Second time just now, ordered over Uber, have to save once more Top notch fish, chips & other solid fish shop fair. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Seriously an underrated gem!! One of the best beef burgers in Melbourne. Beauty in simplicity ! American cheese, sesame bun, special sauce. 11/10

I wish I took a photo, the grilled fish burger and chips absolutely amazing! I’ve had many fish & chips around but nothing compares the the quality and freshness of this place. To top it off the person serving me was super friendly and welcoming. A nice warm atmosphere

Had the most amazing salmon poke bowl. My mates had burgers and we all thought the food was incredible. Such great value and really friendly service. Highly recommend

Great local chipper has re-opened, and the energy, passion and top customer service of new proprietors apparent immediately. The food is excellent: beautifully battered fish, chunky, crisp-on-outside, soft-on-inside chips, packaged thoughtfully to avoid sweating, and a great selection of extras.

Amazing customer service, so great to see what I assume was a family run business. Either way, the people working did so in a noticeably hard working manner with care and passion. The place was EXTRAORDINARILY clean. Will definitely be coming back.

Friendly service, they made my order in under ten minutes, delicious fresh juicy fish, potato cake was spot on and a delicious home made tartare to top it off. :)

The barramundi burger was up there as the best fish burger I’ve ever had. 10/10

I've been coming here pretty much since they took over for the fresh fish and chips.
Tonight.. I felt like a traditional burger with the basics...cheese lettuce tomatoes onions... and my add on...beetroot.
I wasn't expecting anything more than a typical tasteless fish n chip shop burger (I did say I had a craving).
WOW...what a delicious old school classic tasting burger. Where have they been hiding this?.

They definitely know how fish and chips should be cooked and in turn how they should taste. The fish was ample and cooked too perfection as were the potato cakes. No greasy oil feel about them. The staff are friendly and engaging. Definitely the best in the area and worth visiting.

Great fish and chip shop! All the traditional offerings done very well. Favourites were the potato cakes and crumbed calamari. The grilled bara and fried gummy were great. Very friendly service and you can tell they take pride in their product.

Awesome local fish and chip shop. Crispy chips & batter, fresh salad and great selection of seafood. Will be back to try the burgers!

My first experience of this place was right up there with one of the most satisfying pieces of deep fried fish I can remember. The piece of gummy shark was super fresh, generous, and perfectly cooked. Plus the owner and staff were friendly, the place is clean, and I can't wait to try some of the other offerings. Check it out - you won't regret it.

Have been here a few times since it opened and never disappointed. Got a couple of burgers last night and they were the best burgers I've had in ages. The calamari rings r and potato cakes r yum and the fish is always good.
