The Dream - Korean Bistro

I love this restaurant which run by family. You can feel the good service at this cozy restaurant. Everything runs by a group of aunt and uncle. They are friendly and serve customer with a very good manner. I am in love with the food here. Everything is so tasty and got to the point that we have to say "wow". The price is reliable and the portion is good for sharing. My family dined here on my mum's citizenship ceremony. My mum rarely eat out but she loved it. She was so happy about the service as well as the food. It's good that we come to a good place to dine and also support local business. Will definitely come back! :)

Been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally found the chance. It was worth the wait.
This lovely little korean restaurant is taking my top spot for Korean Pancakes and Tteokbokki!
The pancake crown once resided with a now closed restaurant, but the Dream bistro serves something as close to it as we have found. Light and a tad fluffy with plenty of crispy crunch, and not soggy or dripping in oil. Do yourself a favour and order one!
Next up the tteokbokki, this is probably tied for #1 right now. Good spice, getting up to that 8 level, not too sweet, with perfectly cooked rice cakes. My only minor criticism (and it is more of a preference) is that the sauce is a bit more soupy than I prefer. I like a thicker sauce that stays coated on the rice cake, but my partner prefers a thinner sauce. Definitely worth ordering!
Now the negative, the Dak gang Jung was pretty average. It wouldn't make my top 5. Just not enough of that sweet and spicy bite coming through. No twigim included (fried veggies or rice cake), and the chicken didn't stay crunchy. It was OK, and I would probably order it again if I was in the area and wanted fried chicken, but don't expect to be wowed. There are better dishes on the menu.
Next up was the gimbap. We consider ourselves gimbap aficionados, and these were just OK. I think the style is a bit more "westerner" friendly so it's seaweed, rice, and protein. Missing the pickle, the kkaennip, and the burdock, which are required to balance out the fatty, savory elements of these gimbap. Did it fill a desire to have gimbap, yes, were we disappointed, not really... could it be better, definitely. Again, we would totally order it again if in the area, but it's not winning a shout out from us.
The staff were very friendly, the ambiance was low key but clean and nice, it's in a busy area so parking if challenging during peak hours/ weekends, but all in all this place is definitely worthy of a 5 star rating and being crowned king of a few dishes in our book!

Ordered stonetop rice $19 and hardly found rice in there because it was full of veggies and meat. Highly recommended! Sen Gey Tang is very authentic. We ordered more than we need because we did not expect the incredible size of food, compared to other Korean restaurant with tiny size full of rice and barely veggies and meat.

We searched and discovered this place by accident but super glad that we dined here.

The place is not that spacious but service is good. Great options in the menu with reasonable price.

We ordered seafood pancake, cold noodle, black bean noodle, cheese chicken hot plate and side dishes. They were all super tasty, full of flavours.

We entered the restaurant with empty tummies but left there super full and satisfied. Happy customers.

Makes me feel like I am back in Korea with the atmosphere, the staff and the food. My husband and I eat here once a week as their prices are reasonable and the food is the most authentic tasting I’ve tasted in the south east

On a recommendation we dropped in for lunch and were not disappointed.
The dumplings, pancake and bibimbap ordered were most enjoyable.
Look forward to returning to partake of other items on the menu.

I drive from Melbourne to The Dream Korean Bistro…yes I know about 35 minutes driving, but I would drive up to 1 and half hours just to eating this amazing tastefully quality food and the owners with the daughter it’s a plus to add on!!!

We've been to The Dream a few times and the quality of the food has been always consistent. We've tried a number of dishes and we absolutely love the taste of every single one.

Well priced items at around $17 a dish. Seafood pancake was crispy and had good notes of fried onion. Pork and squid sizzling plate had a good kick of spice, we added cheese on top which was a good decision. Japchae was also flavoursome. Service was also attentive and quick. Would recommend for couples or groups of 4.

The food here is so good with reasonable price. Good to reunion with friends and order lots of cuisine!

There are so many positive things I can say about this restaurant and the food, especially the food! All I have to say is, If you have the chance of eating here, I HIGHLY recommend it.

THE DREAM IS THE HIDDEN GEM OF SPRINGVALE!! I literally visit this restaurant every 2-3 weeks!! Super delicious and simple korean meals for a cheap! My absolute favourite is the chicken fried rice, the place is nice and cozy and the owners are super friendly!

Small place but the food was great. We sampled Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Korean Fried Chicken and Spicy Squid. All were very nice and reasonably priced. The prices were very reasonable. Not a fancy restaurant but the food was great. Will be going back to try more of the menu.

Food was fantastic, one of the few authentic Korean restaurants I've been to. If you enjoy food that makes you feel homey, this is the place. They sometimes even allow you to adjust the ingredients on the menu to your liking. Suss it out✌

We had jjampong soup, jajeongmeong, rabokki, spicy galbi. Absolutely delicious, so much depth of flavour in the soup. Better than korean food I've had in the city. Unfortunately no photos before we devoured it!
