Feb 2024: back for our regular Malaysian fill of great authentic dishes. Since it was within 15 days of CNY, we were lucky to be able to taste their CNY pork belly dish. Yumm! ❤❤❤❤❤

Dec2023:
Ahhh … the satisfaction of having consistency in quality and taste of food!! I love Cinta Raya for that.
Hokkien Mee, CLT, Yinyong, Kamheong pipis, nyonya barramundi - all the best taste of Malaysia in one place.

Today we had sambal prawns with salted fish chicken fried rice yummy 😋

Aug 2023:
Still my favourite Malaysian as food taste is consistently delicious and authentic esp CKT (with wok hei), (Real) Hokkien mee, wantan hor , nasi lemak, nyonya barramundi, four heavenly kings, King toh pork chop, sambal prawn/calamari, etc etc …

Dec2022:
Been a year now since discovering this amazing restaurant. Still am a regular and Kak Shirley is the best!!
Love the cooking because they are consistently delicious!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Update: I am addicted to food in this restaurant! Best Malaysian ever!!!
Thanks, Shirley and boys!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Trying out this place despite remarks of bad service attitude. It seems to be the norm for chinese older generation to speak a bit more brusquely. The lady was answering the phone, cleaning, serving, taking orders - all by herself. I can understand her “grumpiness”.

She was actually quite motherly towards us, suggesting the 4 Heavenly Kings to accompany our order of Nyonya barramundi. They were both delicious. I couldn’t stop tucking into the okra, brinjal, petai and long beans. Barramundi was cooked to perfection and went so well with the nyonya style gravy.

I absolutely recommend this place to those who want to try authentic Malaysian cooking. Shirley is lovely and may cone across as terse but she has a heart of gold.

Seems their signature dish is Hainanese chicken Rice. Will try another time, cos I’ll be back!

Some of the best Malaysian/Singaporean food you’ll find in Melbourne.

We’ve been here countless times and will keep going back. Marmite Pork, Char Kway Teow, Sambal Brinjal, Cereal Prawns, Loh Bak, all top notch! Scrumptious all of them.

Aunty Shirley is a lovely lady. You want to walk in a joint and be treated like family, this is the spot. None of the fake customer service “oh you’re my customer so I’ll treat you like royalty”, straight up “let me know what you want and I’ll feed you”.

At these prices too at this day an age? Unbeatable. She’s almost running a community kitchen. Anyway that isn’t happy with this place, thanks for not returning, it’s not very large so thanks for allowing the right people space. I’ve seen some comments on racism, absolutely rubbish. Not an ounce was felt and countless races walked in and got the exact same treatment.

Enough said, the food is amazing, the place feels like home. I’ll keep going back. The desserts are elite! ♥

It's a very good day. Good chat with Shieley about her business. Food retail is tough. Glad that they are doing well. Nice Haninese chicken rice. It is their classic signature dish.

My partner and I had the kam heong pipi, salted duck egg prawns and yin yong chow hor fun for dinner. We were in food heaven! My partner said the hor fun was the best he's ever had. The kam heong pipis are full of flavour but it does pack quite a spicy punch even for us chilli lovers. And the prawns were really good too. We left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. As a fellow Malaysian, I can say the food is authentic. We had no issues with the service. In fact, it was pleasant and welcoming. We'll be back!

Sometimes very busy so you need to wait if not booked. Food was tasty and everyone liked minus the wait.

Pleasantly and positively surprised with this (initially) unassuming restaurant conveniently tucked away next to Woolies. Dishes were authentic and really enjoyed some Malaysian flavours that are less common around Melbourne. Nnonya barramundi & cereal prawns were amazing! The char hor fun (Yin yong) were great as well (see photo). Lady who served us (maybe owner?) was super friendly and very helpful in choosing the dishes. Would recommend / come back!

My go-to place for Char Hor Fun! Excellent service, great food (take it from me, I’m Singaporean). A special and rare find in the eastern suburbs.

Big thank you for our last-minute dinner tonight.

If you haven’t had Loh Bak - stop messing about!

3 entrees, 2 people, $10 each, amazing.

Bloody love this place! We always have the Mongolian beef & chilli prawns or chicken laksa. All so yummy! We need to venture out & try other items haha. Oh we've had the chicken curry & roti too and it was wonderful!

Made a booking for 4. Arrived at the Restaurant. Given a terrible table near the kitchen. Not happy.
However the Hostess was able to turn it around. Shifted our table. AND experienced delightful food and service. Will return soon.

The food is top class with generous serves. The place has more of a kitchen feel than a restaurant but that appears to be what the owners aim for: a fast, friendly place for a good meal without the formality.
