We often go to an all-you-can eat Korean BBQ and today decided to try something with better quality and it worked out that we spent the same amount anyway for much better quality food!

I simply loved the bulgogi beef, the fried chicken was delicious and a good portion, the seafood and vegetable pancake had a good mix of seafood and the beef and prawn fried rice was delicious too!

We entered the restaurant a bit after 5pm and there was a line for a seat by the time we left, but the staff didn’t rush us and it was really a pleasant experience we would love to have again!

By Korea is a famous Korean restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne. Despite its restaurant small size, it is always bustling with customers, especially many Koreans, indicating that this place is favored by local patrons.

We tried their stone pot bibimbap, pancake, and fried chicken. The portion sizes at By Korea are quite generous; three dishes for two people will definitely fill you up.

The stone pot bibimbap, accompanied by their chili sauce and crispy rice crust (nurungji), is particularly delicious.

The pancake has an authentic taste with a crispy exterior and a special pancake sauce.

As for the fried chicken, we chose the mayonnaise flavor, which became a bit greasy towards the end. It's advisable to choose a lighter-flavored fried chicken since fried chicken itself is already quite oily.

Their prices are relatively reasonable, and they impose a 10% surcharge on weekends.

As a passionate lover of Korean cuisine, I recently found myself drawn back to the vibrant streets of Melbourne cbd in search of delicious Korean food. I decided to revisit a restaurant that had left a lasting impression on me with its exceptional Korea pancake !

Fried chicken was super nice and not greasy at all. The kimchi pork rice in stone bowl was a bit too moist but it’s very Korean style . Rhetorical package was the best I could found in Melbourne and HK which was simply delicious and crispy. 😍

Overall 🎉🎉🎉amazing food !

Highly recommend to all #香港人

“Go away, come back another day” at the door put a smile on my face 😊

It is really a nice home style Korean restaurant, down to the food decor and hospitality.

Let’s talk about food first, I’m having a hard time recommending anything here because everything I have tried so far has been a flavour bomb! Fried chicken boom, kimchi boom, cold noodles 💥 EVERYTHING so far has not let me down. This might even become my regular fortnight Korean!

Now we can’t not talk about the friendly staff. So good, so polite, so friendly, so attentive. Five stars just for the staff!

The decor is a hit or miss. I loved it, but my friend was confused by the “go away” sign. It’s all black and white with some abstract kinda art on the wall, so take it how you want.

Overall I LOVE this place!

An amazing place for Korean food on a reasonable budget.

Got the beef bulgogi lunch special on weekdays and it definitely delivered! It had a great balance of flavours and was very filling. The tteokbokki was probably the most mediocre part of it because it tasted different in a bad way.

Expect to spend $20 if coming here on weekday lunch, and $25-30 for other times.

I usually go to this place with my friends when craving Korean food. Such an affordable price, the portion and quantity of food worth every cent. However, I think it will be much better if they have a half-half option for the chicken. Among the 6 favours of chicken, I highly recommend the chili one. Should go as a big group to try more food. Japchae tastes great even though I took it away and microwaved it in the next day. The location is quite small, so I still have to wait about 15-30mins (15mins for table of 2 and 30-45 mins for groups of >6) every time I com here.

The food was really good and the staff were super nice. The kimchi fried rice and the onion fried chicken were our favourites. The was a bit of a wait to get into the restaurant but was worth the wait.

I can see why this place is rated highly. The staff are pleasant, the food is delicious and presented beautifully, and the portion sizes are good for the price. I'll definitely return to try other dishes!

So refreshing to have cold noodles on a hot day!

Had to queue for a bit but not too long. Fast service and friendly staff.

A small assortment of side dishes.

Went at 5:10pm no queue, all three dishes were perfect no complaints. The small complimentary appetizers were a nice touch. When we left there was a queue of about ten people and I'm not surprised as the food was mean as.

Expect a queue at dinner time! Very popular little Korean restaurant. Their korean fried chicken (KFC) is the best in town, tender meat, no bone and rich flavour. Set meals are also available for dinner and lunch. The waiter also offered us a side dishes refill. Speedy service, too. Can accommodate group dining but need to wait.

What a great spot, the food was soooo good. Service was lovely, staff were really friendly and quick. Prices are reasonable, around $20-$25 for a large serving main dish

Really impressed with the food here. The kimchi and pork dolsot bibimbap came out sizzling in the hot stone pot, topped with heaps of seaweed. We loved the seafood pancake - it’s not thick and doughy like others we’ve had where the flavour seems to be in the batter seasoning rather than from the seafood itself. This one was thinner, crispier, and full of seafood and veges! A must try Korean restaurant in the CBD for sure.

I have been there for a couple of times. Ordered a dolsot bibimbap. It was very hot and delicious. There were three side dishes such as kimchi etc coming together. Quite busy and popular. All mixed up with extra spicy sauce if you like very spicy. Although it wasn’t very spicy.

A Memorable Family Dinner at the By Korea Restaurant with Friendly Service.

Our family dinner at this restaurant was an absolute delight, thanks to the scrumptious food and the friendly, attentive staff. The restaurant is located in a small space in an alleyway. Its popularity was evident from the long waiting line, but the brief 5-minute wait was well worth it.

Every dish we ordered was a hit with our family, and we thoroughly enjoyed the diverse flavors and textures. What made the experience even more special was the swift service – our orders were promptly delivered to our table within minutes.

The staffs were friendly and attentive to their customers. Their friendly demeanor and genuine care for customers truly elevated our dining experience.

If you're seeking a memorable Korean meal with loved ones, I highly recommend this restaurant. Their delicious food, affordable price, and exceptional service make it a standout choice for family gatherings.

Used to go to By Korea when they were on Victoria St. Richmond many moons ago, as an AYCE restaurant. But was suggested by a friend to try this one. A lil wait only cause it’s school holidays. But totally worth it. The food came out in a timely manner. Well presented and generous sizes. Great for sharing with 4 of my friends. Everyone liked everything, no crumbs were left. Personally I wasn’t a fan of the fried dumplings, just lacked flavour, but everything else made up in that department. And their $18 lunch special (not that we ordered) looked like a great deal! Will definitely come back!

Seriously great Korean food. It’s a small “nook” of a restaurant. There is usually a wait on the weekends, but absolutely worth it. The prices are just a bit higher than some of the other Korean restaurants and there is a 10 percent surcharge on Weekends and Holidays, but well worth it. The service is also excellent!

As German tourists, this food was amazing! We had Korean Fried Chicken (the dip is so good!) and the beef with soy (forgot the name) which was fantastic! Two dinner value meals and two beers was barely over 60 AUD.
