Tom is an absolute legend at 82 - he has done a fantastic job restoring and repairing my 1930's Imperial Good Companion typewriter back into working order again after 25+ years non-functional because I didn't know someone who could repair it!
Tom has a passion for keeping these beautiful old historical pieces alive and working - such a beautiful man - Bless you Tom 🙏 ❤

Lovely man is Tom Koska. I needed of all things a key for my Olivetti Lexicon 80 typewriter. I visited his amazing shop which was a wonderful experience in itself. I was not confident he would have the key I needed but to my astonishment, among his collection of typewriters and bits & pieces throughout his shop he eventually found the key to fit my typewriter, and the correct key at that, the letter 'U'. I am very thankful & would not hesitate to return if my typewriter is in need of TLC.

I came in to the shop on Monday with a broken mainspring from my imperial typewriter. Tom was very honest and said he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to replace it as it’s a very old model but was going to try his best. On Tuesday I got a call from him saying he found one! I couldn’t be any happier, typewriter now fixed and fully working.

I sent many typewriters that I have collected to Tom. His workmanship is magnificent. Tom was trained in typewriter repairs in Europe and has been working in Elgin Street since he arrived in the 1960s. He offers a friendly and good value typewriter service and repair. But he's very very busy and probably the only typewriter repair shop in Melbourne at the moment.

Tom restored our 1917 Corona 3 folding typewriter to beautiful working condition. I think the picture speaks for itself. We couldn't find anyone in Sydney to do the work so took the opportunity to meet up with Tom when we visited Melbourne. He's a real gentleman and skilled craftsman who enjoyed sharing our delight with his workmanship. Tom's turn around time was very impressive. He, quite unexpectedly, contacted us within 24 hours of dropping the Corona off to say it was finished and we could collect. We had planned to return to Melbourne in several weeks time but were able to go back to Sydney with the typewriter in hand. Great work Tom!
Thank you.

Tom has been repairing my Travellers Deluxe Olympia for years. Toms finesse and Craftsmanship is priceless. Tom always has my typewriter shining and smelling like a well oiled machine, I'm very lucky to be able to continue to use my vintage typewriter with ease thanks to Tom.

Tom did an excellent and thorough job of servicing two typewriters (Hermes Baby & Empire Aristocrat) for me, bringing them back to their former glory. The price and turnaround were extremely reasonable given the high level workmanship and care he provided. I recommend Tom for anyone considering having their typewriter repaired or serviced. I’m not sure that there is anyone else within the Southern Hemisphere, possibly the world, with the same breadth of experience that he has with typewriters.

Thanks for your work, Tom!

I had the pleasure of having Tom fix my Hermes Ambassador and my Olivetti Lettera 32. He is truly a miracle worker because the Ambassador had so many problems. He was very accommodating with times to meet at the shop (delivering and collecting) and gave a quote within a day that he promised. I can't believe how quickly he fixed them given what he had to do.

He not only looks at what problems you show him, he actually gives the typewriter a thorough check and goes to fix every single thing. There was a missing grommet on the Ambassador and I was going to live with that but when I checked the machine after I got home, he actually replaced it. Tom is the ultimate professional and truly loves what he does and always has a smile and a great sense of humour.

We are so lucky to have someone like him in Melbourne!

Visited the shop in search of a typewriter. Tom was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he was very patient as I tested a whole bunch of them. Once I settled on one, he talked me through the mechanics of the machine — very happy with the beautiful typewriter I left with!

Probably the most amazing selection of typewriters that I have ever seen. They even had one with Ukrainian alphabet. Tom is a very kind and knowledgable owner of this shop. I was lucky enough to find this place so close to where I live and even had the privilege to borrow a typewriter for a photoshoot. Thank you so much!
