Professor Mark is amazing! And yes! he deserves to be called Professor.
although he probably doesn’t want to be called that, because he is so chilled. I bet anyone in Victoria can’t and won’t find someone who is better than he is in his field!
He was so amazing to us and because of him our little girl is thriving at 9 months old…I know for certain if it wasn’t for his love and care we might not have our little miracle here! He made sure she was safe until she needed to come out and monitored her like she was his own child! Thank you Professor Mark Umstad❤

Mark is an outstanding obstetrician. I was incredibly anxious when I found out I was pregnant again after suffering from a previous loss. The moment I walked into marks office I felt put at ease immediately. He was so reassuring, confident and kind in his approach. We don’t know where we would have been without Mark who brought our son safely into this world at term. I could not recommend Mark enough. If you’re reading this and are unsure who to pick as your obstetrician you will not regret choosing Mark.

Mark is the most incredible obstetrician. He is patient, listened and responded to every concern I had, no matter how ridiculous! He is so thorough in his care and you know you are getting gold standard service. Despite having a complicated pregnancy, Mark’s care made a stressful time a beautiful experience.

Mark Umstad is brilliant. I lost a baby at 20 weeks under the care of another obstetrician. After being misdiagnosed for years by other highly regarded obstetricians in the field, Mark immediately recognised this and told me that it needed to be rectified. Mark referred me to the right surgeon who was able to successfully perform the correct surgery on my uterus, rectifying the issue. He then referred me to the best IVF doctor who helped me get pregnant. Then once I fell pregnant, Mark took care of me brilliantly. Due to my previous loss, I was closely monitored, taken care of and he was always available for all my concerns. I now have a 1 year old son. He brought us our miracle. He saved our lives. I owe him everything. The ladies at reception were amazing and always accommodated for me w(which was a lot) with kindness and compassion.

Cannot speak highly enough of Mark and would definitely recommend him! After loosing my first born elsewhere back in 2019 Mark made me feel comfortable and reassured that I was in good hands especially with offering me extra appointments and ultrasounds at every appointment! He would always take his time with me and would make sure all my questions where answered! All of his team are very friendly and will help in any way they can even if it’s just for a reassuring chat! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Words won’t ever be enough to describe how Professor Mark Umstad changed our lives and gave us our completed family.

I went to Mark upon recommendation from another friend who he also took care of. I am so grateful that I took her advice.

After years of tragic pregnancy losses and one stillborn at 38 weeks through the care of another obstetrician we were only able to have our son who is now four. But it was time to move forward and seek Mark’s assistance to give him a sibling. Second opinion was a must.

He is a delight to be around and his expertise is incredible. He truly wants the best outcome for his patients to give them the family they hope for. My case wasn’t an easy one but it proved difficult for others to assist but Mark was willing to take me on as his patient.

Thanks to Mark we have a beautiful daughter now only a week old. The care and attention he gave me through this pregnancy was paramount. Mark is not only incredible at his profession but he is a true gentleman. Such a delightful, sweet man who has so much passion to help his patients. We will forever be grateful for the gift he has given us.

I could not recommend Dr Mark enough. A friend recommended him to me, after I had a terrible experience with a different OBGYN (definitely not Mark) for bilateral ovarian tumour removal. That experience had left me emotional and as though I was not being heard. When I saw Mark for the first time as part of my antenatal care, I was so happy. He thoroughly explained the risks, the procedure, and what my options were. Throughout my entire pregnancy, he ensured I was informed so I could make the best choice for me and my pending family. Even my recovery from my c-section was minimal. I was up and about after 1 day post surgery and my scar is very neat and clean. I have friends that have had the same procedure (different OB's), and they took much longer to recover. I also had a similar procedure 1 year prior, and it took me weeks to recover. I owe my quick recovery to Mark. If you are going to have a C-Section, I highly recommend Dr Mark!

I was in Mark Umstad’s care for my second (high risk) pregnancy and there aren’t enough positive things I can say about his practice and the care I received.

Mark is extremely professional and knowledgeable, always friendly and welcoming, extremely calm and reassuring. I always felt that if I needed to, I could broach any concerns I had with him and he was always there to answer any questions. Having the reputation that he does, I can only imagine the amount of people in his care at any one time, however, I never felt like a number. It’s also worth noting that this was during peak COVID, but I wouldn’t have known it had it not been for the masks. It didn’t affect his practice what so ever.

Having a traumatic birth with my first child, it was so important to me that this experience was completely different, and it was. Every appointment was smooth and easy (and his beautiful team of ladies who will greet you are to thank for this as well), his management plan was always clear, his covering staff were all amazing, and had I ever had any concerns whilst at home, all I needed to do was call his office and let them know.
Before I knew it, it was the morning of my scheduled c-section and was a really enjoyable experience. When you think about surgery, maybe enjoyable isn’t always the first thing that would come to mind, but it really was. I felt calm and reassured the entire time and I could actually be excited and not worry, because I knew I was in the best hands, and so was my baby. The whole team that morning were just fabulous.
The care I received post birth was also amazing. Due to certain medications I was on, I took longer to heal, and had to frequent the hospital once and sometimes twice a week, for over 6 weeks for care. I’ve often heard other mothers talk about how once the baby is born, the after care / support you receive can drop significantly, which is the worst thing that can happen when you have a new baby to care for, and something I experienced myself with my first born. This time round, I never once felt worried about the plan of action that was being taken, or like I was a hassle. I always felt like I was a priority and I will always be extremely thankful for that.

If you’re thinking about going with Mark to have your baby, do it. Think of it as a gift to yourself. It’s such an exciting time, and it should be stress free and easy, and you want to have a team around you who get that.

My biggest regret is that I didn’t have both my children under Mark’s care. But I’m not Cher, and I can’t turn back time.
I will say though that if I was to have another baby, I wouldn’t even think twice about going back. He’s pretty fabulous.

An amazing human! Can not speak highly enough of Prof Mark Umstad who delivered my 3 beautiful children. All 3 kids came early and my pregnancies were all high risk. My kids are now 4,5 & 6 and are thriving. Thank you Mark and his amazing and kind staff! Carly & John M

I highly recommend Professor Mark Umstad. I truly had the most amazing experience throughout my pregnancy, labor and delivery. He is kind, compassionate and a leader in his profession.

Incredibile obstetrician! Highly skilled and informative in high risk pregnancies but also extremely caring and sensitive. Someone who you can trust to bring your precious baby into the world as safely and gently as possible. Very impressed.

No words can express my gratitude to Mark. He is simply the best and managed both of my very eventful pregnancies so well.
