Milawa General Store and take away

I’ll second another review here saying this was the best burger I had in months. Excellent hamburger with the lot and the chips had that perfect crunch. Very friendly service from the gentleman working on his own on a Saturday, greeting everyone that came in with a smile. There’s a few nice places to eat at in Milawa but save those for dinner, and make this a stop for lunch.

We dropped in to grab a quick bite. The operator was very pleasant in her greeting. We waited for our turn. Unfortunately, the grill wasn't turned on yet. We were told it would take 10 minutes to start up. We decided to drive on, so we didn't sample any food.

Just moved to the area and as we have been moving I and others have come to grab coffees and food. It has been lovely each time. Very friendly staff. The coffees and the food is yummy as well.

Excellent coffee. The A Frame sign outside the shop says 'A Must Try' for their burger. This is 100% correct, old fashioned burger, just like one would remember from the Fish & Chips shops of days gone by. Do yourself a favour!

Gorgeous store with everything you could need. This was the perfect place for us to get a fresh delicious and easy dinner on Friday night. The staff are so lovely, and helped us for nothing in return when we desperately needed somewhere to store our wedding cake after our venue was cancelled. They are incredible. We are so very grateful!

OMG you have to try the chips with gravy and cheese. So good. As for the Milawa burger highly recommended.

The lady in the shop was super nice, friendly and accommodating. The shop has gelato, Peter’s icecream, toiletries, a selection of Milawa regional products and even cup noodles. They have pasta sauce but no pasta though :( that being said I went in later in the evening and stock was coming in tomorrow

Award winning cheeses charcouterie, jams ice creams, biscuits. Can't go past it. There is a small shop.selling wines. A gorgeous little gift shop
Also a fabulous coffee shop selling beautiful fresh breads. Sour doughs etc. All different types of herbal teas. Try the bohemian rhapsody. Delicious. I had a fabulous lemon don't type of thing to die for. Fabulous cakes. Wonderful all around. Sorry I forgot to do photos.

Best burger I've had in months. Definitely coming back again

Live just up the road and wanted Fish and Chips on a Sunday. Only one place in Wangaratta was open and didn't want to go there. Gave the Milawa General Store a go and was it amazing. Chips were cooked perfectly. Everything else was on point. Gave the prawn dumplings a go as well and they did not disappoint. Well worth the drive if you're in Wangaratta or if you're passing thru on the way to the snow.

We had the hamburger with the lot and the barramundi, both were really nice. im glad that we ended up stoping here and not glen rowan maccas.

Wife left her handbag and I retrieved it the next day all in tact. The Sandwiches were excellent

Awesome original hamburgers, the way they should taste. Worth the stop on the way to Sydney from Melbourne & vice versa.

Forget the pub & smokehouse for a burger you must get one here. Absolutely the best yet.

Such a sweet place to pop into. It truly is in every sense of the word a general store. It has so many different items.

The best egg and bacon roll i had. So fresh and tasty.
