Very good and tasty food. Lots of traditional northern Chinese dishes, but also some more western Chinese dishes. Some people have commented that the price is high, and I don't think that's quite accurate. The majority of dishes are $30 but are huge portions that feed 2 adults comfortably. So the price is reflective of the quantity and quality of food. Service was quite good as well and the food came out quickly, even for a Saturday night. Definitely recommended.

No doubt the best Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. The best salted egg lobster I’ve had in Melbourne. Worth every penny spent, you can tell the quality of ingredients and dedication to each dish. It’s not the typical Australian Chinese restaurant, but it’s the one that would bring local Chinese back home the moment the dish came on the table.
Service is great, there is no fancy standard service jargon but down to earth sincerity, care and attention to details.
I believe in power of word of mouth, and I appreciate their effort in bringing authentic cutlery experience to Melbourne.

I have enjoyed the authentic hunan cuisine experience, it can be a bit overwhelming for the first time with the spiciness and strong flavour but definitely goes down well with plenty of rice.

The price is definitely up there so I would suggest he prepared to spend $30-50 per person if you want to try different things in a group.

If you're after spicy, Hunan food, then this is a must. Its a good ol favourite and always visit twice to 3 times a year. All foods are delicious, full of flavour and unique to what else you can get.

If you like spicy Chinese food, this is where you get the good stuff! Price is on the expensive side and I'd recommend booking a table in advance. Goto dish is the fish as per the photo.

What a surprise of a restaurant! We walked by to head to another restaurant, but they couldn't take the party of 8 we were with.
So we walked in, they could fit us in. The restaurants decor is lovely.
We ordered our food. We thought it would be too spicy, but we chose the right dishes. It was delicious!! We had pork, beef and the cauliflower was cooked in a way we hadn't had it before. Even the kids eat it! And the best part, it was very reasonable!
Our waiter, Louis, was so attentive, polite and so helpful. Definately recommend this gem in Forest Hill!

This has been one of our favourite restaurants to go for spicy Chinese food. If children are coming along, then soup and mushroom/walnut bun would be fantastic non- spicy choices, works every time.
We love their preserved duck egg with green chili 🌶 it's a must-have dish, woohoo, order it, it will surprise you 😉

This is the best Hunan food I have had outside China, Sure it's not the cheapest but I enjoyed the quality in each dish. BBQ frogs legs, Bamboo, Chilli chicken, outstanding flavour. Clean well presented restaurant, (toilet could have been better)

This our second visit to this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. We had family visiting from Townsville and their comment was that they had never eaten Chinese food like this before.
The food is fresh, the ambience is great. We didn’t find it pokey or intrusive. Most of the staff don’t speak English however the menus had English names under the Chinese names.
Beware - the food is spicy, like the name suggests! :)
The pricing is reasonable and the dishes are large enough to share around.
One of our friends had left their iPhone behind without realising it, and the staff called us within 15 min of us leaving to let us know what had happened.

Although extremely understaffed, the food comes promptly and in large portions. It tastes exactly like my mum's food. Their braised pork belly and spicy pork w the baby broccoli is recommended.

My first visit! The staff are so friendly, I like the food they intro to me also. Their service very good! Will recommend my Friend and family to come. Authentic chinese “Hunan” taste ! Yummy

Food not cheap for sure, but tasty. Spicy is also damn sure. But this is what a Chinese Hunan local taste would be. Not all people can take this flavour. But good to those who can.

Never disappointed. Menu looks experience , but I have been convinced by whatever I have ordered that they are totally worth the price.
