A fantastic FREE ENTRY museum. The gentleman at the front said that if you donate, you get to take some cards and a little book that has all the history of Burnie in it. I donated and have since read the book which is like a visual guide through the museum itself.

The museum is well kept, interesting, full of things to view. I took my time and looked through everything there was to see and read. It was very fun learning all about the history of Burnie. Highly recommend you stop here and spend some time. Most people will probably get through everything in 30-45 mins unless you're rushing or deliberately slow (like me!)

A fantastic regional museum, run by some very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers. The displays are very, very high quality, with a massive amount of information about the local area and its history. The old steet setup inside is great to walk through and gives a fantastic atmosphere. I couldn't believe that it was free to enter.....I have seen lesser quality museums charge for entry. If you want to spend an enjoyable hour or two, looking at some very interesting artifacts and learning all about the local history of Burnie, then this is the place for you.

We visited the museum during our port day on the cruise from Melbourne. The mayor came out to greet us and there's a little market open for our visit outside the museum. The museum itself is so well maintained and volunteers are great helping visitors if needed. No admission fee, donations welcome. There's a Federation Street inside the museum which I love and found it very impressive. Highly recommend you go visit the museum and give the volunteers a pat on their back for their excellent efforts.

Very well done and very informative. The museum and it's artifacts brought back memories of the good old days. The village is recreation is excellent.
Burnie council must ensure they keep supporting this for all visitors from wherever they may come from.

We found it very interesting and enjoyed it. The two lady volunteers were very knowledgable and added greatly to the visit. There was no entrance fee but you could make a donation. Definitely worth going.

A wonderful museum that showcases the history of Burnie. Take your time and see each display and see how Burnie was so many years ago. It's a fantastic little museum, reasonable entry cost and friendly and helpful staff. Such a priceless place to visit. Lovely people.

I absolutely love the exhibits on display here. They don't have a lot of space, but they do a lot with what they have. There's a lot of content that they have managed to fit into it.

Awesome museum showing the history of Burnie and the area. A must-see for any visitors to the area. Staffed by the most wonderful volunteers sharing their knowledge and passion for the town. Easily one of the best historic museum experiences I've had.

We came to Burnie as part of a stop with the cruise ship, we were shuttled to the Museum and gallery, met by a wonderful deputy mayor and spent the next while looking at the display of the rebuilt old town and then gallery, a fab experience if you’re not doing a tour off the ship or just driving into town
