Very large and private site, great facilities including washing machine, at a very reasonable price. The Host was lovely and so helpful. Nice Cafe and outdoor seating area, across the road from the beach. Perfect spot to sit, relax and catch your breath.

Beautiful campsite, quiet and clean. surrounded by nature and a few steps from the beach. Ideal to spend a few days surfing and relaxing. It is close to Crescent Head, to go to the bar or foodworks. Also close to Plomer Point and other beautiful beaches. Friendly staff. I will definitely be back

Talk about paradise, if you’re a nature lover this is the place for you! Take it from this biologist! Each morning we had 20+ species of native birds flitting about in the bush around us, including 3 gorgeous Regent Bowerbird males and lots of females, Green Catbirds, an Olive-backed Oriel and lots of Lewins honey eaters. On two evenings we were very lucky and had a Sugar Glider land in a tree above us and feed on the gum blossoms and a big male brush tail possum stomping around the canopy. The beaches are beautiful and the headland walks on either end of the beaches are stunning (lots of wildflowers in the spring), good rock pools and lots of shore birds (10+ sp.). The camp grounds themselves are super well maintained (do note there’s no drinking water but there lots of water stations in Crescent Head). There’s a big sunny, grassy section over the hill from the campsites which was perfect for a morning coffee and yoga. Only complaint is the shower pressure is terrible if anyone else is also showering so save yourself the hassle and go early or late (p.s. the middle shower has the best pressure).

Absolutely love this camp site, beautiful tropical vibes, it felt like we were in Bali. The staff and the owner were super helpful and lovely!

I celebrated my birthday with my friends here and we had the most amazing time. It's a great spot to set bonfire on the beach, and have a really special day/ evening. We were also super lucky to see bioluminescence in the water.

We are definitely coming back again.

Its a really, really lovely place to camp and surf. They put A LOT of effort to be a green, sustainable and nature friendly camping ground. The front staff was super nice and really helpful. Perfect place to hire a surfboard(30$ per day) and wetsuit(5-10$), even if you dont plan on camping there, cause the beach is right across the road.
The first thing you going to notice is the awesome smell and the secluded spots to camp. Feels like a little rainforest by the road. The Ameneties are simple but sufficient(Hot showers, washing machine and dryer, drying rack, dish washing sink, small libary). Unfortunately the washing machine was out of order and it seemed that you would need 4$ for a wash. But Im sure they gonna fix it soon. The Guest Barbie is BYO gas or wood, but could really use a good scrub. Unfortunately I couldnt fit my gas bottle to the barbie, so I just used the electric barbie next to the electric stove in the guest kitchen. The electric stove works well enough, but doesnt deliver the same heat on every stovetop anymore. The electric barbie works fine though.
If you find yourselfes out of some supplies, you can buy them at the reception for a decent price, which is a big plus. I couldnt check out the cafe, but the menu looked alright and was decently priced.
Another advantage was that every camping spot had a small fireplace, including a chopping block.
The most unnerving thing though was a blonde surfer woman(not Anna, who was very nice), which was somewhat acquainted with the staff, but had the loudest and most annoying voice. That itself wasnt so bad, but she liked to chat up the whole camping place at 6:30 in the morning, waking even the baby next to me. Which in contrast I didnt notice at all to this point(mad props to the parents) and further on. Maybe I was just unlucky to get woken by her every day and if youre an early surfer, who forgot his alarmclock thats really helpful.
But all in all I had a very pleasant stay, I loved the bamboo shower and the awesome atmosphere. I gave 5 stars besides the points I listed, because I'm sure they fix the things quickly and its been the nicest, laid back campground Ive been so far. Check out is 12 o'clock midday, gotta love that!!

Had a wonderful time at Waves! Super nice and amazing staff and crew who were very welcoming and helpful.

Facilities were worn but clean and functioning.

Had a laundry machine for use and lots of areas to dry clothing. Sold many useful things at the front desk such as laundry detergent or surfboard renting.

Lovely and quiet this time of year. Amenities are well looked after and water is hot. Easy drive to Pt Plomer, although lovely beach just across the road. Cafe is great, excellent coffee and simple delicious food.

A wonderful time at Waves. I normally avoid paid camp grounds due to them being boring and I prefer to be in nature. But this place was well worth the stop.
Still felt like I was in the bush. 2 mins to the beach, live music on the Sunday afternoon, very reasonably priced, ($22 for peak) kitchen and bathroom were always tidy, no telstra reception but that just made it nicer.

Was peak school holidays and while there wasn't kids activities there, seemed like the kids just made friends with each other and rode their bikes around keeping themselves entertained.

Owners and staff were lovely and the food truck/cafe was nice in the mornings for a chai

Stayed here on the weekend and it was an awesome experience. Beautiful campgrounds with lots of birds and wildlife. It is opposite the beach and not too far from Crescent. Super chilled vibes and friendly staff. The staff are super amazing and are part of the reason it was such an awesome experience. Special thanks to Kit & Geoff. Great little cafe which makes really good coffee and breakfast. I can't wait to go back!

Our new favourite camping site. Perfect for a longer stay, close to the beach, not too big, well designed and use of space to increase the sense of isolation. fires are permitted. Great for kids. Possibly the best egg and bacon butty in Australia. Surprisingly sheltered from the beach winds too.

Absolutely love Waves Campground, Kit and his team are always so helpful and accommodating. Has to be one of the best beach camp spots along the Mid North Coast. Hot showers, easy beach access, proper Cafe and big camp sites. Will always be a frequent camper here.

We recently had our wedding at The Oval at Waves and it turned out better than we could have imagined. Kit and Anna are the friendliest of hosts, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible. We had a bunch of friends and family stay and everyone left with a smile and promise to make it an annual affair.
Amenities are well maintained and the wildlife is abundant.
Having an onsite cafe with delicious food and coffee made the stay all the better and we hardly cooked because of it!
Beautiful place to unplug and enjoy nature. Perfect for little ones. Cant wait to be regulars.

Visited waves campground (Delicate Nobby Campground at the time) lots with my family when I was a kid
where it became a very special place for us. Have revisited a few times in the last few years and am stoked to see the only changes are positive!

The space is beautiful, leafy and lush green and is managed well by the staff. I understand the team do bush and dune regeneration in the area and it's great to know that it's being run with the environment in mind.

All the staff are incredibly friendly and it's clear that they enjoy the work and are treated well.

The small Cafe serves incredible food and coffee and the shop at the office sells essentials at very reasonable prices.

Waves campground is perfect for a couple of nights or to settle in and spend some time in the space.
I look forward to visiting again and seeing how it grows.

Great campground! Very well laid out, lots of trees and you can make fire there! Clean toilets and hot showers! Finally it is only across the road from the beach.. the waves are good for surfing and we saw some dolphins in the morning! Oh also you can purchase ice and firewood there. Would definitely go back

Great little campsite. My favourite in Australia. Kit and the staff are friendly and helpful and generally there is a really nice relaxed and casual atmosphere. Sites are spacious and have trees for shade, hammocks and privacy. Amenities are basic but good. No phone signal which is great when camping but can make calls from the beach where necessary.

Booked into this campground after checking out Crescent Head Caravan Park and Campground and then all the other individual campgrounds on the road south from Crescent Head until we arrived at Waves. We had finally found the right spot to spend our 4 nights we had planned. Spacious campsites, not side by side like Crescent Head. Plenty of space around and between sites. Lots of lovely trees and wildlife. A lovely beach across the road although not patrolled but there is a rocky outcrop where it would be relatively safe for kids to get wet. Reception keeps some basic food items in-case of emergencies, and also ice, fishing and surfing gear including bait, and an ice-cream freezer. One addition which might be worth consideration would be some long life milk. This is a perfect place to get away from city living and just relax. We even decided to stay an extra night. Kit was an amazing host and so passionate about his campground - you can feel the love. We will be back, most definitely.
