Macquarie Nature Reserve

Great free attraction (donations welcome). Amazing to see the koalas being rehabilitated, including orphaned joeys. The staff were very informative and helpful.

We really like koalas but most of all appreciate people there who are dedicated to help them.

It's sad that the koalas there are all injured in some way... But the displays and information are nicely done, and you can't complain about the entry fee... ($0) - so drop some money in their bucket if you visit. I think that the hospital on this site will be refurbished in 2024...

This place is crazy there are so many bats hanging from the trees. I expected it to just be like a normal park but it is so cool and really worry having a wonder around.

Notwithstanding the fact that Port Macquarie is a lovely quaint town with marvellous walks, lovely white beaches and great scenery ... the little Macquarie Park and Koala Hospital are well worth a visit. Easily reachable via a relaxing and extremely scenic route along the coastline from the Port Macquarie Greens. Highly highly recommended.

Fantastic hospital, Koala's are the most cute animals ever!! And the people do an amazing job here to care so well for them!!

Beautiful open grounds for people of all ages to visit. We tried the new Cafe there which was lovely! Perfect venue for garden wedding or reception party or photos. Koala hospital next door. This is a really nice place to visit when in Port.

Historic homestead / artspace with excellent cafe right next to Loala Hospital. Great experience for the family, or solo.

So cute koalas. So great this hospital that takes care of wounded koalas. Place to visit absolutely.

Lovely green space close to the coast, which is home to the koala park and the roto house. Aside from those attractions there are some open areas to have a picnic and a few short walks.

Koala hospital: friendly people guiding the tours. Awesome work performed there. You get to know a lot about koalas. Nice little museum as well. And you actually see a lot of koalas up close for pictures (no touching of course) Must do for everyone visiting Port Macquarie.

They are doing an excellent job caring for seriously ill koalas, burnt from bush fires. The only koala only hospital in Australia. Rely on donations mostly. Plenty of overseas visitors.worth visiting, free admission. PLEASE DONATE.
