Great place! They take care of multiple koalas here. You can see the koalas up close. There is a nice informative part at the beginning with some funny "did you know" facts about koalas and other animals. During our visit they were feeding a koala.

Visitors to Port Macquarie must stop in at the unique attraction that is the Koala hospital.

So good to see the Kaolas who are wounded, recovering or for the lifetime being in care. It's definitely important to know that these amazing animals are being cared for. It's definitely worth a visit. Would love to have lent a hand to help, if its possible would love to know.

We love the Koalas, and this little hospital for them at Port Macquarie didn’t disappoint.
Many of the Koalas are being helped to get well enough so as they can be released back into the wild, however, some have been hurt so badly by cars and other injuries that they will
Remain here forever.
But all in all, if you love these cute little furry creatures you’ll love it.
There’s a Cafe and a shop to buy some cute little gifts to help them out along with the donation box.

Lots of koalas visible in the trees and one even pacing up and down eight in front of us. A well run facility with helpful staff willing to tell us the background behind each inhabitant. Fortunately they don't show any badly injured koalas, so it was a positive, uplifting experience. And it's free!!

Well worth a visit. Set in beautiful grounds, these amazing creatures are nursed and nurtured back into their native environment where possible. Loved my visit here, and was more than happy to buy a few gifts in the shop at the end. The volunteers are more than happy to engage and are very informative.

I love Australian Volunteers culture, the Koala 🐨🐨🐨 Hospital only got 4 paid full time then like 180 volunteers to run the Koala Hospital! We bought few souvenirs and a small donation to support this lovely Koala Hospital. Every day the volunteers will do room service for the Koala and the Koala will be trained and test to ensure they fit for the Wild environment again! For the one injured, then they will be permenate residents at the Koala hospital and enjoy 5 stars service. The Koalas there looks happy to me so I give it a 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

so sweet! much better than a zoo! you can see about 10 koalas and the volunteers will tell you all their stories, you get close to them. entry is free, it’s non profit and on donations afterwards. such a great place!

Fabulous! It’s different every time I go. Lucky to see one koala getting fed his daily medicine to help his gut. He loved it. It’s free to enter but with the tap of your phone you can leave a donation of any amount. We left $5 each to help with koala rehabilitation. Fascinating experience.

If you are making your way to Port Macquarie from Port Stephen, I suggest you make your way to drop by this koala hospital. They showcase how they treat the injured/sick koalas. The self guided tour are quite informative. I would recommend this detour to anyone who is around the corner.

The volunteers are amazing and always happy to assist and explain the stories of the Koalas. The center itself is really well-kept and I appreciate the work they do. Really recommend visiting at ~8AM on feeding time.
Also would recommend buying anything from their gift shop. This contributes to the work they do and you get awesome souvenirs. I haven't seen a prettier koala plushie than the one we got there 💗

We really enjoyed spending an hour here this morning learning about the amazing work the Koala Hospital do and quietly observing the resident koalas. We got a wonderfully warm welcome from the staff who were happy to answer any questions (though the information displayed was so clear and comprehensive that we didn’t have any!). We were amazed that the hospital is free to visit, so we gladly showed our support by buying several items from the well-stocked gift shop.

What a special place full of amazing volunteers and beautiful, rescued koalas. Each have their own special story. Visit if you can and help support the hospital. ❤ 🐨 ❤

Come here and see the koala. There are some koalas that treated there. Free entry! so make a donation or purchase the gift from the store to contribute helping koala.

This is a great place to see koalas up close. The volunteers were clearly passionate and provided good information. The koalas are receiving great care. There is a small gift shop with lots of koala themed items. There is a Cafe next door at an historic house. Allow 15-30 mins.

Amazing experience visiting the resident koalas and learning all the facts about koalas in general. We visited first thing in the morning when the koalas are most active. We also had breakfast at the cafe on site which was lovely. Highly recommend this visit

Awesome, free way to spend an hour or the two. The little information centre was engaging and interesting... and some of the koalas even moved! The kids really enjoyed learning more, even if some of the truths about how the koalas ended up there (and she not leaving) were a bit brutal.

Spending time to read through all the sad stories of the koalas experienced. They are really adorable!

Visited in the morning and saw a lot of Koalas, some eating some sleeping. Staff really friendly and caring a lot. Nice little shop and informative Museum.👍🐨
