2024 Check relevance and options re signing away usual useful day to day rights through their codes of conduct.
2023 Generally a reasonably pleasant year with progress in reading and maths etc.

Positives
Pleasant teachers. Generally students results are directly related to how the teachers teach them in each subject. So the teachers seem reasonable. We were able to help when the teachers noted they needed some help. One teacher managed to include some typing training when I mentioned that they had started typing. The frequent teacher changes started to look usual which could provide some variety of experience.

Negatives review -
All the sickness from school and hence weeks and months wasted to sickness, particularly with a toddler at home, continued as the worst aspect about which they do so little other than basic headlice notices. It was more obvious how limited the teachers are in helping each student and other factors that can effect the experience at school. For example those with training in the grunge cultures that australian schools host continued to show good performance boosts.

In agreement with the local lnp electorates developing as the nations most far right, least caring there was a right wing less supportive trend of calling for involvement and yet cutting dance club, singing, Bosco Beats, Spring Carnival. Next year might show whether far right authoritarianism follows.

2022 Generally seemed a good combination of small friendly school and positive religious culture, easy relaxed teaching style and easy for parents. Recently their greatest teacher of the last few decades retired. They said they want to focus on education and be a bigger school.

Positives
Our selection criteria was which school was easiest and most fun and A. said Boscos. It was a nice easy year for her. Her reading, singing, dancing and swimming improved.

The rooms, grounds and gardens were good and include a big undercover area and a library which they renovated this year.

Negatives

Australian schools are an unavoidable interaction with communicable diseases, lice, covid etc and thoughtless stupidity and aggressive behaviour in the community. SJB managed to minimise such things to a reasonable level. A usual selection of communicable diseases from school often towards the end of each semester, which really messed up holidays, and a few heads up lice messages each semester. The positive religious style seemed to decrease the usual violence aggression spectrum.

The usual school dumbing down was initially extreme and the behavior styles coming home from other children’s behavior at school were problematic. A classic bullying early on. The teacher appeared oblivious to simple emotional and then physical abuse patterns from other children.

There was even an example of a totally out of place teacher going off emotionally when A. happened to cry when reaching school after being away with a cold for a few days. As A. really loves Boscos and the parent had a cold it was that sort of feminist total lack of emotional compassion or understanding which can be a typical low standard at schools. Some examples of teachers showing rudimentary negotiation and communication abilities with students and parents but also authoritarian walk over examples. Realistically as with all similar high stress authoritarian occupations being around teachers can be difficult and makes a usual low involvement approach a general safe go to approach for parents though events were generally pleasant. The usual Australian school depression was extreme on a few occasions. Such depression is often associated with obesity, alcoholism, bullying etc.

Communication about other essential aspects such as illnesses was minimal. So a minimal interaction style.
There wasn't much about school safety which is the day to day situation for children. i.e. interacting with a full spectrum of initially unknown children for most of the day.
