Elizabeth Hostel

Thank you Elizabeth street hostel and staff for accommodating me and for all your hard work managing, operating and cleaning the hostel.

I apologise for not thoroughly cleaning the room before I checked out yet my departure was rushed.

That being said really enjoyed my stay and the interesting characters as well as the attitude of the friendly staff.

The place was always maintained and cleaned well and for in terms of Affordability, location and convenience I rate 5 stars and overall 3.5/4 stars

Do recommend for those on a budget who seek adventure in a prime location abundant in convenience.

Would stay again.

Checked in at 4PM in an 8 bed female dorm with windows opening out onto Elizabeth St (across the road from Vic Market could not hear anything going on outside). Definitely no sign of needles or drugs of any kind and people who say that it is everywhere and the staff do nothing must be on something themselves or expect more than what they pay for. I would definitely stay there again.
Cleanliness, price, accessibility to transport and location are key in my selection for places to stay. Don't believe what you have read try it for one night. Excellent rates, very clean, quiet space for reading, desktops available, separate TV room, separate male and female bathrooms and toilets which are cleaned morning and afternoon. Very friendly staff who recommended I keep my ID for personal security even though they could lock it up. It is an older hostel but definitely does not smell. If you want newer amenities like lifts go elsewhere. Roommates were quiet and respectful.

It was so nice! I got there and decided to go on a adventure there is so much to do just near the hotel

Don't be disuaded, traveller.. the photo you peer upon be Flinders St station, not the Elizabeth hostel but to be sure to be sure this Elizabethan hostel be not Elizabethan but of Elizabeth on Elizabeth. Rooms be downright funky, in a good way. Bathrooms be out of this fantasy world. Reception be. I'm out.

This place is really nice.i had a room with just girls which was a little noisy but it was nice. People were friendly and I could sleep on the sofa in the main room before my room was ready which was so nice of them. They also have three computers to use which was really helpful. Staff are friendly and very nice. I highly recommend staying here.

Checked in last Tuesday and was amazed at the warm welcome I received from the reception ladies and gentlemen. The team is of Asian origin and willing to assist to make your stay as comfy as possible. The beds are clean, warm and the overall cleanliness of this hostel is incomparable for the price per night/week in Melbourne CBD.

we live in Hobart and recently my husband has needed to go to several medical appointments in Melbourne. he has stayed at the Elizabeth Hostel each time and found it great. it is safe, central, reasonably priced and the staff are GREAT!!!!

Room was clean and tidy; Staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived after an exhausting day of sightseeing and was greeted by professional staff, a relaxing means and a well rested night.

I say 5-star for most of the things. You get what you pay. I sometimes don't understand people say negative review because asking too much beyond what they pay. They pay cheap but expecting to stay like in five-star-hotel. C'mon man, stay in Hilton instead, then you will say negative things on their rates. Haha...

Affordable, able to cater to walk in guests, secure area for luggage, efficient system for keeping beds clean. I would definitely return here in a pinch.

Everything as expected. Reasonable rent, updated and bathroom showers. Big on site kitchen with pots and pans if needed.

Booked a single bed room, they gave me a DOUBLE BED ROOM instead! Friendly staff and very clean facilities. The bed was very clean too.

The long term tenants there are quite friendly, as if we are all a family, no matter what background you are.

Excellent hostel, in the CBD and the price is great! Highly recommed.
