Awesome vibe this place puts out, great relaxed restaurant with lots of sake to choose from.
The cocktails monkey sour and sake spritz are both great to finish a meal with.
Food was amazing! All fresh ingredients prepared by experts can not fault a single thing at this place.
Every part of my experience with dendeke was great, simple, pleasurable and hassle free from booking, seating, eating all through to payment.

Very lovely Japanese joint with a wide variety of sake and Japanese drinks. Lovely cocktail selection and very nice sushi and curry bowls. It's a bit on the premium end of the dining experience but it's definitely worth the price.

The food is really good! I think the best Japanese restaurant that I have ever been! I recomend to order arburi salmon, really yum!

Having recently moved into the area I have already accepted that this will be a regular haunt.
The bar is exceptional, the whisky, sake and whole drinks list is phenomenal. The attention to detail is brilliant and then comes the food......
Try everything. It's all exquisite.
The oysters (in their various forms or yuzu shots, ponzu or natural) are wonderful. The sashimi is stunning and every other dish heightens the whole experience. This is one of the best restaurants in Melbourne and I can't wait to go back in the immediate future.

I never tried Japanese food before but after visiting this place I think this cuisine is outstanding.

Dendeke is my go to for Japanese. It's consistent with its quality of food, service and atmosphere. The food is always delicious, service is always quick and friendly and the interior design and feel is so cozy and cool. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Just came across this terrific Japanese restaurant on High St.
Really fun atmosphere and decor, excellent service and very authentic menu.
We shared a selection of dishes, all bursting with flavour and beautifuly presented. Will be back again!

Just popped in for a cheeky drink. Never had Sake before and it explained to the bar tender. He quickly whipped up a tasting plate of Sake and wow. He knew his stuff. While I was sitting at the bar mouth was watering watching all the amazing food being served. Definitely coming back to try the menu.

5 start service and cant wait to go back

We came here on a Friday night and the place was bustling. There were so many temptations on the menu we wanted to eat everything. Finally, we chose "Help Me, Obi-Wan Kenobi" to enjoy their Omakase option for between $55-$65.

This was a feast for foodies who appreciate remarkable flavours and aesthetics. The highlights for us were the deep-fried battered prawns with Miso mayo, the freshness of the sashimi, and the decadent slow cooked pork belly with ginger and yuzu kosho sauce. The Blancmange agar dessert infused with sakura syrup was the perfect way to end the meal, light and refreshing.

The warm colours, lighting and retro pics created a great vibe. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the whole visit with great attention to detail. This was a fabulous experience worth repeating and telling friends about.

Wish I took photos of everything else but only got the last two dishes. It’s a no frills place but with top notch fine dining & small but excellent wine selection, awesome scotches to choose from and legit down-to-earth staff. Feels truly authentic to me. This is a hidden gem! Maybe on the expensive side but worth it, you get what you pay for in terms of quality.

I should add that I don’t recommend as a take away place because it’s more comparable to fine dining.

One of many visits to this little gem. I promise you will love the food, the drinks and the warm fun and friendly service. I low this place for a little get together with friends, a sweet romantic night for two or even a time out in one’s own. Song I’ve it a try.

A delightful Japanese restaurant with a great menu and a large range of quality drinks.
The menu includes sushi, sashimi, hot and cold share plates and much more.
The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, reminiscent of a Tokyo izakaya.

Finally got real authentic Japanese restaurant here in the northern suburbs. The food is good (though slightly pricey) but the service and quality is good. These guys are genuine Japanese not like some of the other ones in the northern suburbs (won’t name names). Lots of alcohol selections too. Great place for a drink and dine. Will surely visit again :)

Amazing. We come here once almost every month. Food is delicious, decor is great and the owner and waiters are really friendly. The menu doesn’t change much, but for a good reason since all the food is very good.

My group went with the Chef's selection and omg the Chashu pork & Nasu Dengaku were the best!

Exquisite restaurant where the staff were very friendly! The quality of food held up to the prices and the drinks were delightful. My partner and I had the Help Me, Obi Wan Kenobi dish from the menu which allowed us to try a range of food items to share. Everything was well cooked and the flavours were amazing. Highly recommend a visit and suggest making a reservation before you go.

Had the tasting platter along with a few cocktails and dessert.

We only got bar seating as we booked just before we went in on Tuesday night.

The food was amazing, especially the desserts.
